eSalon Custom Hair Color is an at home custom color subscription.  This is my second application of their hair color.  The last time I did their semi-permanent color which says it will last about 28 washes and since my color choice is really similiar to my normal hair I did not notice a huge difference until about 45 days when I really started noticing my glitter strands coming back through.  I’m really happy with that time frame however if I went darker or had more grey then I would probably want to switch it up to a permanent color and would have to do it more often.  When you first log in you fill out a survey and answer questions about what you are looking for in a color and what color your currently are etc. They then had a chart showing where you are and what would work for you. From this they will send a custom blended color right to your door.

Everything that came in my eSalon box.

Here is the custom color solution. When you are ready to color your hair you will mix these up.

This is perfect and is all included in the little box.  It is all the extras you will need to color your hair: shampoo, conditioner, stain guard, stain remover, and gloves.

The subscription comes with easy to follow instructions. This is the front of the card and as you can see on the bottom of the card it shows the adjustments from my last box.  Before my box was set to come I went into my account and they have a section for you to add notes and any changes you want to make.  Since we are getting into spring I decided I wanted to go a little lighter than last time.  They then sent a note back telling me they got the message and have made the changes. They also updated the instructions this time to tell me to start with my roots and work my way out since that is the hair that hasn’t seen color yet.

The instructions are easy to read and to follow.

Me and my hair again.  It is still long and many different colors.  I am using my new cape from my last The Matchup box.  It was much easier to color with the cape instead of the towel that I used last time.  The towel was clunky and hard to move my arms around but the cape was lightweight and easy to maneuver with. It also didn’t keep falling down since it hooks in the back.

All dyed up.  Since the instructions said to concentrate on the roots that is what I did.  I then put some through out the rest of my hair.

Fresh out of the shower and combed out.  As I’ve said before I don’t change my hair much so it is hard to tell in the picture but I can see the extra red and color in it when I look in the mirror.

Here it is all dried and ready to go.  I love that it covers up some of my gray strands and that it really gives my hair a vibrancy and a shine that it was lacking.  I’m thinking that next time as we are going farther into spring/summer I will go another shade lighter since my hair will naturally get lighter since I’m in the sun a lot and at the pool.

I loved eSalon and the ease in which they  made selecting my color and then the easy to follow instructions. It really works well on my hair and even though it is hard to tell in the pictures my friends can tell a difference and it makes me happy which is the most important thing.

Your hair looks great! I can’t wait to see what color you pick for the summer.

Thanks. I figure I’ll keep going a shade lighter as we go through the summer months and see how it goes. 🙂 It is so hard to see in the pictures but my friends here all notice it and it is helping with the grey coming through which was the biggest issue for me.
