Loot Crate April 2016 Review + Coupons – QUEST

Loot Crate‘s theme for APRIL was QUEST.    Loot Crate is the original subscription box for geeks & gamers. Every month you’ll get awesome geeky items curated around a central theme. One of the things I love about this box is that it’s only $20 per month – a super affordable geeky fix with a subscriber base so gigantic that every box is full of really awesome geeky items – many of which are exclusive to this subscription (and not just oh, it will be released later – actual exclusive items you’ll only get in this box!). Every Loot Crate box in 2016 will have a shirt!

The crate itself was very cool and the inside was glossy – upgrade on the packaging!

Unfortunately the magazine got very advertise-y this month. There was an ad in the magazine for every single thing that Loot Crate sells.

The Exclusive Loot Pin unlocks bonus digital content. This month you can download Neverwinter… on your PC. Sadface. [Note that I cannot actually confirm that it’s not available for Mac because this is a review box, and I don’t have access to the digital content.]

There was a gold chase variant of the Versus pin, too. Someday…

Loot Crate Exclusive 20 Sided Die Ice Mold ($11.99) This is really great! It’s an exclusive color to Loot Crate, but if you need more for your tabletop gaming adventures, you can get extras at Think Geek (or just mold your ice ahead of time for a party!).

I *love* that the numbers are imprinted so they turn out on the die/ice itself! It’s foodsafe and you can make chocolate in it too!

Exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Poster: This came rolled in a very sturdy cardboard tube, so I was happy with the packaging of the poster. It’s pretty cool whether or not you’re an Uncharted fan – the design is great. Obviously not a huge value item, but given the other items in the box and the fact that it was rolled nicely (and not weird or ugly), I’m happy with it!

Exclusive Harry Potter Socks: These seem more lady and teen friendly than man-friendly, which I’m ok with!

The socks have Voldemort’s Horcruxes on them. These socks will not bring us mere mortals immortality, but they’re fun!

Exclusive Labyrinth Shirt: I think Loot Crate nailed the shirt in a BIG way! The style is unique, true to the story, and it’s signed by the artist (I’d tell you who it is, but I can’t read it on the shirt).

This is easily the most detailed shirt Loot Crate has ever produced – and the shirt is nice and soft.

Exclusive Vikings Drinking Horn With Strap: This is getting tucked into my husband’s birthday gift today – he’s a huge fan of The History Channel’s Vikings. The strap is great and who doesn’t want to slosh around a bunch of mead in a drinking horn?! This takes the cake.

I am going to try 3D printing a stand for it – wouldn’t that be awesome??? yessssssss.  If you do it before me, please share your file!!

This was one of my favorite Loot Crates ever – I think they nailed everything. I would have been happy with the shirt and the drinking horn, but the 20-sided die really topped out the geekery. I’m really hoping since Loot Crate partnered with the Henson company for the amazing shirt that The Dark Crystal might make it into a future crate or Level Up subscription!
