The Hippie Hobby is a bi-monthly craft subscription box. In every box you’ll receive a complete crafting kit, which incorporates recycled, upcycled, or natural elements (the “Hippie” part!). Every box also includes a surprise DIY craft project with an upcycled, recycled or natural twist!

The first look and I was happy again this month. I love the natural green colored paper and the burlap wrap.

The first look once I opened the paper.  I love that their squiggles are recycled newspaper.

The craft for this box are Gem Magnets!  The information card provided the instructions for the craft and was full color with complete instructions. The printing on this is high quality.

All of the supplies for the Gem magnet craft. I love that they sent me pages from Winnie the Pooh.  I love Disney and this makes the magnets just that much more me.

This project was fairly easy. I took the gems and found pictures and words on the pages that I liked.  I traced around them and then cut them out.  Using ModPodge we adhered the paper to the gem and then sealed the back with some more.  I love ModPodge and it can be used for so many things.

Once the ModPodge was dry I used a little super glue to attached the magnets.

My completed magnets.  We already placed them on the fridge.  As you can see I went for more of the pictures then the words but you could have picked anything that you wanted and liked from your pages.

The extra craft this month are some cupcake toppers.  I didn’t make this one since I don’t need them right now and it requires more paper then was provided in the kit.  This doesn’t look like a hard project and I’ll use the provided toothpicks and glitter one day with the kids to create some fun tops.

I really liked the main craft in the box. It was a simple project and while I did it all myself I could see this being a fun one to do with the kids. I could let them dig through older books and magazines and see what images and words they come up with.
