ElementaryBox April 2016 box

Elementary Box is a monthly subscription box service for the elementary teacher & classroom. Every box includes teaching resources, fun incentives for studentsand a special gift for the teacher. Their mission is to lighten the load of teachers and give them a well-deserved treat, while boosting student success and a sense of community in the classroom (or homeschool).

For planning purposes, ElementaryBox begins shipping around the 22nd of the month for the following month’s box. This way teachers receive the box-of-the-month before that month actually begins, and they have plenty of time to integrate any time-sensitive materials into their lesson plans.

ElementaryBox April 2016 review

Boxes are curated for PreK through 5th grade – choose the grade that you teach!  The items in the box ranged from treats for the students, classroom decor, learning aids, and a teacher treat!

Teacher Created Resources Power Pen ($10.99) and Teacher Created Resources Power Pen Learning Cards Reading Comprehension Grade 5 ($15.99): The first item to catch my eye was the funky looking pen and  there’s a package of reading comprehension cards to use with i!.  In my room as with many regular rooms you have to deal with children who are hyperactive.  I found that keeping them busy with gadgets while learning was fun and yet educational at the same time.  I was always on the lookout for new items such as these.  The pen gives instant feedback, such a positive reinforcement for children who are in need of reassurance even in 5th grade where they’re trying so hard to be mature.

Teacher Created Resources Safari Animals Stickers ($2.29): Next on my eye catching list were the stickers, these are real pictures of animals.  So many ways to use these stickers:  science obviously, looking up weights and measurements for comparisons with math or what about a story starter!  So many ways, not enough time!

Lotus Naturals Rose Water Body, Linen & Room Spray ($10): Last but not least, simply because it was hidden in the squigglies, was the Rose Water Spray.  It’s handcrafted by the ladies of Lotus Naturals in Bend, OR.  It’s mood-enhancing aroma can help freshen up your classroom or spritz on your face anytime of day to cleanse, soften and cool skin.   This might be the perfect solution to the end of a tense day, spray in the room or on your skin to help ease your anxiety.

I thought this was a truly fantastic box from Elementary Box! It had a great assortment of materials and I think any teacher would be delighted to subscribe for herself and it would make a really wonderful gift for a teacher. Boxes always contain materials for students, the classroom, and for the teacher with grade-level appropriate items.
