Allure Beauty Box is a beauty subscription that sends 5 deluxe samples – makeup, skin, hair, accessories, and fragrance. Samples are chosen by Allure magazine editors. The new name is confusing, because what’s now known as Allure Beauty Thrills was formerly the Allure Beauty Box.
There’s a mini magazine in every box and it’s very editorial – the Allure editors pick every product and give tips on use and why they like it. Or why you might not.
Everything in the box! As you might be able to tell my box was damaged by leakage. Whoops!
Mally Evercolor Shaping Lip Pencil ($26 for 3-piece set – $8?) I haven’t tried out this pencil yet, because I didn’t want to deal with the mess. I will this weekend for sure! I like Mally, and it was wonderful not to get a blue Mally eyeliner.
Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Crème ($7.20) Love this for banishing frizz and adding shine and a gorgeous scent!
DDF Wrinkle Resist Plus Pore Minimizer ($25) This is a pricey product and I cannot remember where I’ve tried it before, but I have, and I really like it! I was happy to see this in my box. It’s hydrating plus it uses micropigments to soften the appearance of skin, reducing the appearance of the size of your pores!
L’Occitane Cleansing And Softening Shower Oil With Almond Oil ($9.50) Here’s the naughty offender! I might have been upset if this bottle was teeny but it’s really big and barely anything leaked. I tried this before, years ago, and this is a much larger sample. It lasts a really long time (you only need a little bit, it foams up), and smells wonderful. But uI should note that anyone with a drupe allergy could have totally died from the mess in this box.
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara ($7.29) I admit – I love drugstore mascara, especially Voluminous! I didn’t save the booklet to check to see how Allure indicated the sponsorship status (see my last review for an example). I don’t care when boxes do have sponsored items but they should be clearly indicated – let me know if you know the answer.
Bvlgari Goldea Perfume ($11.20) So, this box was in a plastic bag, and I can’t figure out why they wrapped this one in plastic and not the unsealed shower oil! I love Bvlgari and this is a sunny, golden oriental. It’s a total win for me.
Damage issues aside, this is a well-curated box with a great variety of items, and about $68 in value! I do think subscriptions should take more care with items like almond shower oil though. FYI – I did not contact Allure about the state of my box. Everything was usable after I cleaned it up, so I didn’t feel the need to get in touch with them.

Allure has THE WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced. Avoid this beauty box at all cost.
I see I am not the only one who had leaky shower gel. Mine leaked a lot less than yours, but I could feel this moisture over everything in my box.
