My older son, T – age 17, opened the box and was pleased to see Batman and Deadpool!
T found the February box to be a great month! Powered Up Geek Box does not curate around a theme. However, I see a nod to the Deadpool Movie and the Superman VS Batman: Dawn of Justice movie.
T is psyched over the Superman Shield Drip Tee ($20.00) and plans to wear it to the Batman versus Superman premiere. He is team Batman. I was shocked to see a licensed t-shirt in the box because the majority of geek boxes send mash-up t-shirts. T enjoys both types of shirts. He is really happy to have a great shirt to wear to the premiere.
Yay! Batman is also included in the box. The Zak Designed Batman Travel Mug ($11.99) is a double wall, BPA Free Tumbler with a spill-proof flip-top lid. T will be using it as his track meets. I liked that Powered Up Geek box included both Superman and Batman items!
T was happy to see Deadpool items. He and his friends love Deadpool because of his sense of humor and breaking the fourth wall.
The Marvel Funko Pop Deadpool Keychain ($6.49) is a detailed keychain. T is ecstatic to receive it and will be using it on a regular basis. J, age 7, thinks it is sooo cute!
The Deadpool Body Knocker ($12.99) is solar powered and rocks back and forth in the light. There is a switch to turn it on. Both boys love it. The Deadpool items are timely because the Deadpool movie was released on February 12, 2016.
The boys found the Street Fighter Pixels – Ken ($10.78) to be frustrating. There are 223 tiny little pieces that create a 3″ tall Ken. The boys gave up after a half hour. It’s a unique way to celebrate Street Fighter V which was released on February 16, 2016.
I was puzzled by the Snap Macro Lens ($5.99) until I reread the Powered Geek Box description. It fits pop culture gear. T is using it on his phone.
The February Powered Geek Box was a win for my family. T absolutely loved receiving both Deadpool and Batman VS Superman Gear. He is also using the Snap Macro Lens on his phone. The boys had a lot of fun trying to put Pixel Ken together. The items made sense for a February box although it is not curated around a theme. It did feel like Christmas to T!
