March’s OwlCrate theme is Writer’s Block! Owl Crate is a monthly subscription books and bookish items box.   Each OwlCrate will contain one new Young Adult novel, as well as 3-5 other bookish items all matched to a monthly theme.

First look and I couldn’t really see much of what was in the box but it was really heavy which I’ve come to expect from these book type boxes. Most of them come with hardback book and they really give some heft to the box.

The information card has brief information about each item and a few notes about the theme. I like that this looks like a notebook since it goes with the theme of Writer’s Block.  Such a nice detail.

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner ($11.40) – This is a new release book from an author I’ve never heard of but it sounds interesting. From the description I’m not sure how it fits into the theme yet but I’m ready to find out and will be adding this to my read pile.

Dill has had to wrestle with vipers his whole life—at home, as the only son of a Pentecostal minister who urges him to handle poisonous rattlesnakes, and at school, where he faces down bullies who target him for his father’s extreme faith and very public fall from grace.

He and his fellow outcast friends must try to make it through their senior year of high school without letting the small-town culture destroy their creative spirits and sense of self. Graduation will lead to new beginnings for Lydia, whose edgy fashion blog is her ticket out of their rural Tennessee town. And Travis is content where he is thanks to his obsession with an epic book series and the fangirl turning his reality into real-life fantasy.

Their diverging paths could mean the end of their friendship. But not before Dill confronts his dark legacy to attempt to find a way into the light of a future worth living.

It also came with a couple bookplates and a note from the author.  Again this month I didn’t take a picture but all of these were sealed in a bag inside the box which kept them protected and safe from all the squiggles in the box.

BookWorm Boutique Pins – These pins were custom made for OwlCrate and they are AWESOME.  I love all the saying and will be adding this to one of my tote bags right away.

Out of Print Banned Book Socks ($10)- I love fun socks and these fit the bill.  I love that one sock is the censored version and the other is the original one.

Quill Pen by Kikkerland ($2.50)- Are you waiting for your letter from Hogwarts? This is the perfect pen for anyone wanting to feel like a student there.

642 Tiny Things to Write About ($6.62) – This book will really get your creative juices flowing with tons of prompts to help with any writer’s block you may have.

The next installment in the bestselling series presents 642 writing prompts in an irresistible new format. Delightful and thought-provoking, this book is perfect for stumped writers, journalers, or any creative type needing a tiny flash of inspiration.

Check out a couple of the fun prompts to get you started.  I can’t wait to grab this one and have some fun when I need just a quick mental break while working.

I’m all over this box.  It is more of a me box and I think will interest people who like books in all different genres and you don’t have to be of any specific fanbase.  I love it all and can’t wait to dig in and check out the new book.
