mostess box february 2016 box

Mostess is a new bi-monthly box lovingly packed with curated entertaining items and ideas that are perfect for your next gathering (or as hostess gifts!).

The packaging for this box is everything. When I saw the bow I fell in love and the rose gold foil on the sturdy box? Totally exquisite. This is the best packaging I’ve ever seen on a subscription box. The quality of the ribbon and the sturdiness of the box was better than what I’ve been seeing on most special edition boxes!

This box ships in a very large outer cardboard box and is completely covered with bubble wrap.

I wasn’t disappointed when I popped off the top of the box, either!

Inside the envelope was a sturdy bifold booklet printed on lightly textured heavy cardstock. The box shipped in February was the VIP Box.

The quality of the information booklet matched the rest of the packaging. Everything was so lovely and my face beamed when I opened this box!  I love it when a new subscription totally nails their packaging, and this topped everything else I’ve ever opened!

The box also included a duo-sided card with entertaining tips on one side and cocktail recipes on the other. I’m going to try the non-alcoholic Mostess Refresher during my next unboxing  marathon (and save the Mostess Original for after I’m done!).

All the items were securely nestled in straw squigglies.

I was excited by everything I saw!

The packaging for the breakables was darling.

Jack Rudy Aromatic Bitters ($12)

Jack Rudy Bourbon Cocktail Cherries ($16)

Jack Rudy cocktail accoutrements are so classy – an artisan version of classic cocktail toppers and splashers – everything is small batch, labeled, and the packaging is understated. The bitters are perfect for Manhattans or Old Fashioneds and I cannot wait to try the Kentucky bourbon soaked Oregon cherries in the Mostess Original recipe included in the box. I guarantee you that I have a bottle of bubbly in the basement that is crying out for dressing up with cocktail cherries!

K Style Design Cocktail Napkins ($32) These natural linen cocktail napkins are elegantly hemmed in black. The hand on the linen is so nice – it’s super soft! I loved the natural look contrasted with the black, and I’m thinking about picking up larger napkins from this company edged in a bright color for our dinner napkins. They’re beautiful (but I wish a coupon code had been included in the box!)

Sugar Paper Thank You Cards ($28) Everyone needs a beautiful thank you card to thank a guest or a host!

Really high quality and completely gorgeous. These napkins should last forever – they’re 100% organic European linen.

These are beautiful letter pressed flat notecards with gilt edges and even the envelope is top notch.

Rosanna Doré Nesting Hexagon Bowls ($36) I kind of squealed when I opened this. I love tiny dishes for serving little finger foods and toppings and these hex bowls are perfect for adding a classy touch to all the bits and bobs that really make a gathering special. I loved that they came with reusable nesting liners so I can store them properly in the buffet while they’re not in use.

They’re made of porcelain and glazed on the outside with metallic gold. It’s not a stretch to say that you might see these over and over again on the blog, they’re darling!

They’re perfect for placing out drink garnishes in a fun party bar setup!

Rosanna Doré Hexagon Platter ($30) When I opened the last box I wasn’t expecting a contrasting platter! It’s fantastic! I loved the luxe modern look I got from placing all the items together. I also can now serve the fanciest chips and dips on the planet!

I loved the luxe aesthetic for this box! Every single item was curated perfectly and was 100% elegant. This is my kind of box – I loved the color scheme, the assortment, the metallic touches, the extras, and the packaging. The box is pretty spendy at $120, but it’s a bimonthly box and had a value of $164. I expect that with time the total value will increase. This box was all about the details – both in putting it together and Mostess’ goal – to help you deliver all the details when you entertain!

Currently Mostess  isn’t quite on a subscription model – you purchase each box. We do have spoilers for the Spring 2016 Mostess box shipping in April.

I LOVE this box! The packaging really does make it feel special. It is my favorite subscription box right now, because everything feels so fresh either to use or to give as a hostess gift next time I’m invited over. I can’t wait to see spring box spoilers!
