Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly sample box – just $5 for the shipping and handling. It is not my favorite beauty box (I prefer Birchbox – you can get high end samples monthly for the same price after points – see my last Birchbox reviews), or another of the beauty boxes once in a while for the same price, and come home with full size and deluxe samples. But if you want a sampling experience for items you can buy at Walmart, this is your box.
Remember that I’m over 35, so I get the “old lady box” based on my profile. Walmart now lets you select either the “classic” profile or the “trendsetter” profile. I just let mine be the classic profile and didn’t alter anything in my account.
The box said these items will help you define your beauty into full bloom. Or to nurture your wilting flower! Ok, it didn’t really say that.
It seems like it’s an improvement from the box last quarter.
Here are all the items in the Walmart Beauty Box this Spring.
Colgate Optic White Platinum Express White ($1.91) Yay for toothpaste! I’m definitely testing this out immediately! It has double the hydrogen peroxide and is supposed to give you quick results.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (57¢) Cetaphil is a great gentle skin cleanser. Nice to see a solid classic in this box!
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Nourishing Monoi Oil ($1.30) I’m kind of a fan of in-shower moisturizers because it cuts down on a step and a lot of drying time. The moisturizer is formulated to blend with water on your skin on contact.
Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Restorative Night Cream and Daily Moisturizer – These come in an Aveeno Absolutely Ageless Facial Care Starter Kit for $7.99. Although it didn’t have the outer packaging it was nice to get an entire starter kit, and it claims to give you younger looking skin in a week!
RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Chest, Neck, & Face Cream ($2.37) Oh I like this because it’s primarily for smoothing fine lines on the chest and neck! I don’t think there’s enough décolletage creams in boxes!
Vera Wang Embrace Rose Buds & Vanilla ($1) This is a nice scent although I’m not a huge fan of rose (and it will be regifted to my MIL!). I was pleased they included a sample with a spritzer instead of a vial. Hey Birchbox, if Walmart can do it, so can you!
Banana Boat Sun Comfort Sunscreen Lotion ($1.58) Well I’m looking forward to testing this out on the beach. It’s water resistant yet formulated to relieve sand- and sun-related dryness and to help sand brush off easily. Sounds like a miracle sunscreen!
Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick ($7.03 – thanks Susan!) I forgot to check the packaging, I don’t think this is quite full size (which is $8.79). This lip sheen is meant to moisturize and provide a touch of color while conditioning your lips. It’s made with mango and shea butter and the scent is yummy!
This was a decent color on me. I’m not a fan of nudes with my skintone but this was alright (that’s pretty high praise from me for a nude-ish color!).
And loads and loads of foil packets. Out of all of them, I was really excited about the pink grapefruit moisturizer, because it smells like grapefruit! These are all fun to test out and I didn’t feel like I had to value them like I did last time (because there was basically nothing in that box!).
Burt’s Bees Renewal Intensive Firming Serum
Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Correct & Cover Pink Grapefruit Moisturizer Fair to Light
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 20
Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Cream Moisturizer
What did you think about your box? Mine had a value of nearly $24, which was excellent, and it was so so so much better than the previous quarter. With a box like my Spring box, I could almost recommend a subscription, but the last box was such a real burn!
(And there’s always a but with this box…) But the Spring 2016 Walmart Beauty Box in the Trendsetter profile was not nearly as good! Now there will be variations as the quarter progresses (it takes Walmart quite some time – months – to ship out all the boxes) but this version of the younger profile just doesn’t have the value that I can see that the Classic box did. Happily for me I’ll use nearly everything in this box, and it’s only $5 a quarter.

I haven’t received my Wal-Mart beauty box yet can someone please check my subscription, why haven’t I received a text
I’ve had 2 AWFUL boxes in a row!! Just received the Spring 2016 box on May 10. Any idea how to get better products? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!!
I absolutely loved this season’s box and got the “old lady box” as I’m 41. I loved everything in it and especially the ROC facial cream and the Jergens Wet Skin. I’m very fortunate in not having wrinkles but the ROC cream is such a great moisturizer and it wears well under my liquid foundation, is light and lasts all day without breaking me out. the Jergens Wet Skin is amazing and also lasts all day with a very light scent. I do like that I can skip drying when I use it and the other stuff is great (sunblock, make up samples, olay and neutrogena items) but another honorable mention goes to the colgate optic white and the vera wang embrace. These items and the ones mentioned first are worth well beyond the $5 I paid for shipping. I’m VERY pleased with this box.
It makes up for the last two boxes of 2015!
YAY! I’m so glad it worked for you!! And totally jealous of your wrinkle-free skin!
I subscribed to the Classic & Trendsetter box about 2-3 weeks ago. I received both boxes recently, and they were both the Winter box shown in the Instagram picture. Despite this, I think I’ll hold onto to the subscription for one more season just to see what happens. I didn’t think the samples were all that bad, but then again I’d never pay $5 for this box (or the Spring box) if it was being sold in a Walmart store (funny how the psyche changes when beauty subscription boxes come into play). Since it was mentioned that Walmart can takes months to ship out boxes, I’m thinking this is just a really, really early spoiler for me, and I’ll get this spring box in 3 months! 🙂
As I recall, my winter box was even way worse than that Spring Trendsetter box in that Instagram picture… instead of the 2 decent items that I saw on reviews, I got a dandruff shampoo – but I don’t have dandruff. So dandruff shampoo and foils – that was it.
I too get the old-lady / “Classic” box but haven’t seen or heard anything regarding my Spring box yet. I’ll be SO happy if I get the same items you did! And that Jergens in-shower lotion (which I think I got in this months Target box?) is a little different than other ones I’ve tried – like Nivea. The Nivea is rinse off in the shower, but that Jergens one is for after you turn the shower off and before you towel dry – no rinsing.
yeah i had the same winter box. the jergens was in jan target box!
Nude lipsticks can be used instead of chapstick under (not instead of) pigmented lipstick. It moisturizes and primes the lips and forms a nice even base for the pigmented lipstick (and can change or intensify the shade).
Yes, a definite improvement over the last one! And I agree with you on the in-shower moisturizers – I really like them. I haven’t decided about the lip color (I have almond nude, which looks like the same one you got – I expect it would be pretty much invisible on me). The packaging on it says not for retail sale so I assume it’s not full size, but it’s certainly not a tiny sample one.
if you still have the plastic wrapper let me know how many oz it is. I was too interested in trying it and it slipped my mind!
It says .08 oz (2.3 g).
updated! i was off by a dollar. ty!!!
