March 2016 Super Geek Box Subscription Box Review

Super Geek Box is a monthly geek subscription box that promises a new shirt every month or something 2x Epic.

Everything in the box for March. The theme for this month is LIGHTNING. 

They have a nice fold-out card. It’s hard not to draw comparisons between this box and 1Up box, as their branding, fonts, etc are nearly identical.

Sega/Nintendo Keychain Plush: There were three variations on this keychain (Sonic, Tails, or Pikachu). We received Pikachu!

Super Geek Box PIKA-CHEWS: A pack of branded gum in the flavor Electric Mint. It was actually quite good and I could totally feel that mint getting me going (ok I felt it in my nose).

Super Geek Box Lightning Key Cover: Featuring the Flash in block form.

Super Geek Box 10×24 Ultimate Clash Poster: an epic clash between comic and anime worlds – Goku v. Superman!

I’m not a fan of fold-out posters, but I’m an adult, and my opinion is that the primary market for this box is teens/young adults, who probably don’t care as much as I do!

Super Geek Box Exclusive Hoard of the Rings Shirt: Sonic has been collecting way too many rings! A few subscribers received a LE gold lettering version. This shirt was happily claimed by our middle child.

A patch for Epic Comicast, a podcast that focuses on comic-related pop culture things. I wasn’t impressed with the quality of stitching on this patch, but it’s a bonus item so I don’t have too many complaints. Plus a thumbs up to the other side of the information card (that I forgot to snap a photo of) detailing information about the podcast and noting that it’s recommended age 13+. This box is pretty targeted to the tween/teen market (although adults totally love it too) that it was a nice touch!

Plus, the monthly theme pin!

This really wasn’t my favorite box from this subscription. It kinda felt like it was missing the big item. However, I think it was a hit for many subscribers and the items in the box are pretty representative of past items, although perhaps a touch lower in value.
