Hustle Crate February 2016 Subscription Box Review & Coupon

Hustle Crate is “a millionaire’s book club that sends you inspiring and educational monthly boxes tailored for your success.” Each Hustle Crate will contain one new actionable book, advice from featured entrepreneurs, as well as 3-5 other lifestyle items to help you get your hustle on.  Hustle Crate subscriptions start at $29/month, with discounts for multi-month subscriptions.

Although I’m not an entrepreneur (yet!), this subscription sounded like it would be straight up my alley.  I am obsessed with entrepreneur and productivity podcasts and books.  I love goal planners and inspiring products.  I was super excited to get my first box — the February Crate.  My first impression on opening the box – looks professional and clean.  I liked the black & white label sticker.

The black & white label sticker also gave the theme — “You don’t learn until you launch” — and a list of contents for the box.

Let’s dig in.  On first peek after ripping into the tissue wrapping, I see coffee.  Already this box is a favorite!  The clean, crisp look of the box continued from the label, to the first peek, and even to the products included.  Very professional looking!

Book:  7 Day Startup by Dan Norris ($11.69) I heard on a podcast the other day that there is really no new content out there, the value in a book is to put together information from a variety of sources and make it useful.  That’s a fair assessment of this book.  There is no mind-blowing advice here (except that you can start a business in 7 days…); the practical advice in this book has been gathered from the world, compiled, and organized in a way that makes sense.  The book is sprinkled with real-life stories and examples that go contrary to conventional wisdom.  It’s laid out in an easy to read format with bullet points and action items, which are helpful.  In summary, it’s an easy read, full of useful advice (even if not earth shattering), and on-point for those thinking about launching a start-up.

Book:  24 Hour Business Plan Template by Steven Fies ($11.95) This book is meant to give you the information and resources (including online downloads) to craft a business plan in a short amount of time.  As the book notes, sometimes it’s important to just get your startup out there and then make adjustments.  The book is short, easy to read, and practical – just what you’d want in a book like this.

Other goodies:  Café Santo Domingo Coffee! ($10)  What budding (or even experienced) entrepreneur, productivity junkie, or hustler doesn’t need and love coffee!  A thoughtful addition to the box.

Other goodies:  a blank notebook & pen — this is a nice sized notebook for carrying around in a briefcase or purse – small enough to tuck inside but big enough to have space for ideas.  And the pen, although nothing fancy, is a nice solid pen.  And if there’s one thing a hustler needs, it’s a place to jot down ideas, goals, etc.

Bottom line:  I think this box would be useful for entrepreneurs, but also for other people thinking of becoming entrepreneurs or even people who just love productivity and the hustle.  The people behind Hustle Crate know what they’re doing and I can’t wait to see what they’re going to put in next month!
