Treatsie March 2016 Subscription Box Review + Coupons

Another excellent box from Treatsie!  Treatsie is an artisan sweets sampler box. Each box includes amazing gourmet sweets from 3 – 4 small, independent confectioners, which change every month. Items you may receive include candies, chocolates, cookies, and other sugary delights!

B.T. McElrath Salted Butter Caramel Bites ($9 for 14 pieces):  The touch of salt brings out the complex flavors in the caramel.  A sweet and nuanced bite. 

B.T. McElrath Dark Chocolate Caramel Bites ($9 for 14 pieces):  The dark chocolate is the star of this bite — much more flavorful than I expected to find in combination with a filling.    

Nunu Chocolates Chocolate Covered Grahams ($8 for box of 4):  The chocolate on these grahams is very dark, so the overall taste of the cookie is not too sweet.  The graham cracker was surprisingly crisp and had a very light graham taste.

These crunchy treats are topped with fleur de sel.

Bees & Beans Honey Bar Jr. ($40 for 24 pieces):  We absolutely adored this bar!  Every element was on point — the caramel was sweet, complex, and just the right texture, the nougat was gooey and creamy, and the chocolate was the perfect level of darkness to complement the sweet fillings.

Yum!  The nougat was so creamy that I initially mistook it for an utterly delicious marshmallow concoction.

J&M Foods Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies ($2.90):  A crunchy-style cookie, these are real treasure. They combine the sweet and buttery flakiness of a pecan shortbread cookie with the classic perfection of a well-made chocolate chip cookie.  I could taste the sweet butter and the fresh egg — I love it when these flavors survive in the final product.

Clairesquares Shortbread & Caramel Dark Chocolate Square ($8.50):  We absolutely love this twist on shortbread. The caramel is darker and gooey and the entire thing is topped off with dark chocolate. This was excellent.
