Dia & Co is a monthly personal styling subscription for plus-sized women. It’s pretty much just like Stitch Fix for plus sizes – Fill out your profile and sizing information, pay a $20 styling fee (refundable against anything you choose to keep), and have 5 items selected by a stylist sent straight to your home to try on. Dia & Co includes free shipping each way. If you keep all 5 items from your box, you’ll receive a 20% discount.
Everything is neatly packed in the box.
It included an invoice showing the price of each item plus my potential discount.
My stylist, Brett, provided a letter detailing the items selected for me and how to style them with my wardrobe. I liked the quote on the front of the card (should have photographed), “The sign of a beautiful person is that they always see the beauty in others.”
These are the styles that I selected when I signed up. I made it a point to emphasize that although I work in an office, I spend a lot of my work day outdoors and live in Florida where it is VERY humid, so I need clothes that are climate friendly and easy care. I also made sure that my stylist was aware of the difficulty my bust presents when shopping and that I am between sizes.
Everything in my box!
Fashion to Figure – Kora Dress in gray ($48.90): I really like wrap dresses because they are flattering on most shapes. So, I was excited when I saw this above-the-knee faux wrap style. It is a very lightweight heathered/space dyed sweater knit. I wanted to keep it, but there was a weird puckering on my bustline where the dress wrapped.
Jules Smith – 14K Gold Plated Mesh Wave Earrings ($28.00): These earrings are brass with 14K gold plating (also available in silver and rose gold). I love them! They are the right mix of classic and trendy, and totally my style. My stylist suggested pairing these with the dress to elevate my look.
See Design – Waves Scarf in turquoise ($35.00): Even though I love scarves, it wasn’t until recently that I really got into wearing them. Anybody else intimidated by the number of ways to wrap/tie them? The turquoise is great for spring/summer and will definitely add a pop of color to my mostly black and white wardrobe. My stylist also suggested pairing this with the dress, and it definitely added that something extra when I tried them together. This scarf is retailing for $28.
BB Dakota – Long Sleeve Top in burgundy ($60.00): I like the idea of this top, but not the execution. The color is gorgeous, and I like the split back. I just couldn’t get over the raw edges or the A-line torso that hit right at my waist, making me look wider. Plus, the warmer weather has returned to Florida, and the cuprammonium/viscose fabric blend (rayon) is not sweat friendly.
Close up of the raw edge. This is is how every hem on the shirt is finished.
Zenobia – Knit Long Sleeve Tee in salmon ($32.00): This is very sheer, so a cami would be needed underneath. I like the asymmetrical hemline on the bottom of the tee and thought it would be good for weekend wear. However, the color completely washes me out. Back it goes.
Since this was my first box, I really wasn’t sure what to expect and had a hard time trusting someone to shop for me. It wasn’t a home run, but I’m attributing that to Dia & Co. and I just starting our relationship and being in that “getting to know you” phase. The selections lined up with my profile, which is good. I’ll provide feedback on what did/didn’t work and keep my fingers crossed that the stylists use that info to make next month’s box better for me. I’d love to hear about your experiences with this subscription, so please leave a comment below.
