Dearest Whiskers is a new cat box that came out in December 2015 and is owned by Katie Haefner, a certified vet technician. She introduced the box in response to parents seeking healthier toys for their adorable kitties. Kio, her cat, is the official product tester. Dearest Whiskers focuses on providing handmade artisan cat toys, natural treats, cat supplies, accessories and homeopathic items. Expect 3-4 items each month.
The kitties are going to love this box. I had to keep taking them off the table while taking the photos. They did not want to wait!
March’s theme is “Under the Sea.” The kitties gave the theme four paws up.
Check out the items for the March Dearest Whiskers Box! I wonder what is in the cute paw print wrapped package?
The cats went crazy over the Kitty Nibbles Dried Bonito Flakes ($5.55). The made in Japan treats are all natural with no additives. The only ingredient is the Dried Bonito (Wild Caught). The kitties could smell the treats as soon as I opened the box. They found them to be quite tasty.
The Lobster by Sew Phabulous ($6.99) was a favorite with the kitties. Every cat went for the lobster first. It is handmade and stuffed with organic catnip.
The Sushi Roll by Whiskers Designs ($8.00) is perfect for kitten claws. It is handmade with organic cotton and stuffed with premium catnip. I guessed at the price because I was unable to find current information. The cats had fun whacking it around.
The Catnip Fish ($4.00?) is made from 100% wool felt and is handstitched. The filling is corn fiber and organic catnip fill. Garfield claimed it and would not share.
Bramble tried to grab the lobster as I was taking photos. He knows he is not allowed on the table. He is a handful at times.
Little Lamb selected the lobster too. It was a popular toy.
Bramble decided to play with the Sushi Roll. He rolled around and batted at it.
Garfield mostly licked the catnip fish toy and did bunny kicks. He loves to play even though he is 8 years old!
Bramble gave up on the lobster and kept playing with the sushi roll. He eventually walked off with it and hid it somewhere.
Whiskers ended up with the lobster which is befitting because the box is called Dearest Whiskers!
I do believe that there is room in the cat box market for this type of box. It has become my favorite box because of how the cats react to it. They can’t wait to try the treats and play with the toys. Dearest Whiskers did an excellent job with the “under the sea” theme. They can’t wait to try the treats and play with the toys. The value of the box is around $25.00. It can be difficult for new boxes working with small businesses to achieve a high value. I do hope as their subscriber base grows that they can keep the value at the cost of the box or above. I do appreciate the quality and selection of the items!

I’m really interested in this box. With five kitties, we’ve gone through a lot of toys over the years, and have a pretty good feel for what our cats like and don’t like for toys. It seems like most of the other cat boxes available contain toys that aren’t particularly unique, and don’t seem to be a really good value for us. I really, really like the uniqueness of the toys included in this box. This one is on my short list of cat subscription boxes to try. Thank you for the review!
Thank you for reading 🙂 My cats loved this box.
Hi,
I am wondering if Brambles third eyelids are showing.Sometimes when cats third eyelids are showing,it means they are not feeling well. I hope this is not the case with Bramble.
Carolyn, thank you for your concern. I noticed his eyes in the picture and thought it was because of the strange angle. I never heard of third eyelids before. I checked all the cats after reading up on it. All kitties have clear eyes including Bramble.
I did follow up by calling the vet. She thinks that Bramble was showing his distress at being photographed. He’s inquisitive, but dislikes the camera.
I’ll probably keep him out of the pictures and let him enjoy the boxes afterwards if he is still here when they arrive. He’s heading back to the farm soon because he loves to follow my sister around on the farm. My sister and I joked that he is a great homestead kitty because he loves to be right next to her while she is working outside.
I know that both my sister and I will be checking their eyes to make sure there are no issues!
Bramble is sooo cute! And the picture of Whiskers is so dear!
The kitties meow their thanks!
