The bright blue box means something awesome arrived – ComicBoxer! This month we received some really cool first issues plus a reprint of a first appearance of a mouthy anti-hero.

ComicBoxer is a monthly comic book subscription box for comic collectors.  Every month you’ll receive 5-7 comics ranging from hot new releases, variant covers, #1 issues and more from top publishers. ComicBoxer mystery boxes are for adult collectors and readers and may contain comics with mature situations, violence, and explicit language. ComicBoxer works with publishers like DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Boom Studios, IDW, Dynamite, Dark Horse, and Oni Press to bring you fresh new comics monthly.

FYI, ComicBoxer also offers ComicBoxer Kids – see our ComicBoxer Kids review here!

Comic Boxer gives a nice variety of comic books.  All are bagged and boarded and then bagged together with a sheet of paper describing each book.

Spider-Man #1 Variant Cover – The artwork for this variant cover is by Skottie Young.  The interior artwork is by Sara Pichelli and Justin Ponsor.  Brian Michael Bendis writes this wonderful first issue.  If you would like to read a review of this issue, click here.

Kennel Block Blues #1 – BOOM! Studios $3.99.  Written by Ryan Ferrier and art by Daniel Bayliss with colors by Adam Metcalfe.  It’s a prison book but with dogs in a kennel.  The art looks super cool in part one of this four issue mini-series.

True Believers: Deadpool #1 – Marvel Comics $1.00.  This book is a reprint of New Mutants #98, the first appearance of Deadpool!  Well, Domino was introduced as well, but the masses don’t know about her yet but wait until that X-Force movie comes out.  This book has everything encompassing creator Rob Liefeld and the ’90s: big muscles, lots of pouches and guns that look like vacuum cleaner handles.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 – BOOM! Studios $3.99.  This is Green Ranger: Year One.  Written by Kyle Higgins with interior art by Hendry Prasetya.  The cover is by Jamal Campbell who also autographed the comic.  A certificate of authenticity is also included.

Superman: The Coming of the Supermen #1 – DC Comics $3.99.  Superman is getting the Neal Adams treatment.  Neal is responsible for the writing and the artwork for this Man of Steel mini-series.  You can read my review of this first issue here.

BONUS: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 Launch Party Variant Cover – $3.99.  As if having an autographed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #1 wasn’t enough, Comic Boxer includes a variant cover as well!

Comic Boxer  description page gives a look at all of the books within the box. We liked how the information sheet gives a bit of insight into what awaits you inside the books.

Comic Boxer is a great deal if you are looking to get into some new series.  There is enough of a variety within the box to really get a feel for what you might get hooked on.  I also love that this is a comic book subscription box.  There isn’t any other fluff within the box; just a ton of value in the comic book department – including an autographed copy this month!
