BookCase.Club is a monthly book subscription box. Every month you’ll receive two handpicked books in one of six genres. (For the children’s picture book box you’ll get four books!). This is an inexpensive book subscription – less than $15 including shipping per month!

When you sign up you’ll pick the genre. I selected Blind Date, because I love Paranormal Romance novels!

They use the same box each month so depending on the size of your books will depend on how full the box is.  My books were a little on the smaller size this month so they moved around a bit more but they still fit nicely in the box.

The box comes with a folded paper each month that gives info about the books and also a note from the curator.  The cover has this quote from Cassandra Clare.

The selections for this month.  I am really excited for these books.

A note from Katie.  Last month the whole note was handwritten and I was really wondering about her hand since it had to be a lot of notes. This month they printed the note and she just signed it.

The Witches of Echo Park by Amber Benson ($6.80) I’m so excited for this one.  For those that don’t know Amber Benson played Tara on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and is overly talented in acting, singing, directing, writing, and I’m sure so many other things.  I’ve actually looked at some of her books a couple times but have never read one so this is a perfect selection for me.

This is the first book in the new series about a coven of witches living in LA.

Unbeknownst to most of humankind, a powerful network of witches thrives within the shadows of society, using magic to keep the world in balance. But the witches are being eliminated—and we will all pay if their power falls…

When Lyse MacAllister’s great-aunt Eleanora, the woman who raised her, becomes deathly ill, Lyse puts her life in Georgia on hold to rush back to Los Angeles. And once she returns to Echo Park, Lyse discovers her great-aunt has been keeping extraordinary secrets from her.

Not only is Lyse heir to Eleanora’s Victorian house; she is also expected to take her great-aunt’s place in the Echo Park coven of witches. But accepting her destiny means placing herself in deadly peril—for the world of magic is under siege, and the battle the witches now fight may be their last…

God Save the Queen by Kate Locke ($13.68) This is the first book in the Immortal Empire Series.

Queen Victoria rules with an immortal fist.

The undead matriarch of a Britain where the Aristocracy is made up of werewolves and vampires, where goblins live underground and mothers know better than to let their children out after dark. A world where being nobility means being infected with the Plague (side-effects include undeath), Hysteria is the popular affliction of the day, and leeches are considered a delicacy. And a world where technology lives side by side with magic. The year is 2012.

Xandra Vardan is a member of the elite Royal Guard, and it is her duty to protect the Aristocracy. But when her sister goes missing, Xandra will set out on a path that undermines everything she believed in and uncover a conspiracy that threatens to topple the empire. And she is the key-the prize in a very dangerous struggle.

Another month and again I’m happy with the books in my BookCase.Club.  They were again not brand new releases however the Witches of Echo Park was only released in 2015 but they are by lesser known authors and therefore less likely that I have them at home or have read them already.  I also like that while they are sending series books so far they have sent only the first book of the series.  They did the same last month and I already purchased the next two in that series and binged them all.  I’m hoping I get as into these books and pick up the sequels right away.
