birchbox march 2016 box

The Birchbox theme for March 2016 is Ladies First. Birchbox is a beauty sampling subscription box. You’ll get at least 5 items every month (I often get more) to try out and see what you love. Birchbox is $10 a month, plus you accumulate points after reviewing the items in your box! You’ll get 10 points per item reviewed, and 100 points are equal to $10 in the shop.

The information card gives brief details on each item. Remember to go to to Birchbox.com/MyBox to review your samples for points!

I was really surprised when I opened my box to find no tissue. There’s now a foam liner at the bottom of the box (they’ve been doing this for some time for Birchbox France) – good news is that it’s not glued to the bottom (so you can recycle the box, say, after you reuse it and the box gets destroyed). Bad news is that I don’t think the foam is recyclable. Please find another solution Birchbox!

Everything in my box. I was a little disappointed at the samples, but then I realized that this box is on my account where I have a profile set up to be totally not me – frizzy hair and the works. The samples fit the profile well, and Birchbox has been working to improve sample matching!

FHI Brands FHI Heat Hot Sauce Thermal Heat-Activated Conditioner ($1.57) A silicone-free leave in thermal activated conditioner. This product is infused with jojoba crystals!

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray ($4.90) A blowout spray with the fabulous PARLOR scent of peaches and grass! This is free of sulfates, parabens, and gluten and is a pretty lightweight blowout spray. I will use it when I blowdry my hair, which isn’t often at all, but it has great reviews, even from those with fine hair!

trèStiQue Color & Smudge Shadow Crayon ($10?) The full size version has a neat smudger on the end (see it here). This is a gorgeous khaki olive with great shimmer.

Swatch from June 2016 Ipsy Bag. Bummed that I didn’t get a different color, so I’ll pass this extra along!

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow ($4.20) I was worried this would be too golden for my skin, but it’s not, and I’m really excited about it because it’s a hypoallergenic, gluten-free, perfume-free, and oil-free formula. It didn’t leave me with dewy skin per se (it actually seems to be a matte finish) but it enhances the look of your skin with light reflecting pigments. I’m excited about this discovery!

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads ($3.6) These collagen under-eye gels have a slightly perfumed fragrance, but they didn’t irritate my eyes. They come in a little tray and you just slap them on for serious under eye plumpage.

They also come in the Ready for Anything box (below), which is much more my personal style than this box was – but again, it wasn’t a profile designed for me! The value of the box was $24.27, which wasn’t too shabby!

Yes, I also got the olive green and spouse told me I looked “tired.”

I received the same color crayon as you, which seems odd as olive green is a hard color to pull off. Wish the shade was something more universal.
