March’s Barkbox has arrived! Barkbox is a monthly subscription box just for dogs. Each box has 4-6 dog products and is customized to the size of your pup, plus it has a cute theme. We selected the large box for our three dogs.  Bella is a Rat Terrier, Odie is a Borador (half Border Collie and half Labrador Retriever), and Daisy is an English Shepherd. The paper matches the theme. I love it! J,age 7, was fascinated too because he has watched Tom and Jerry Sherlock Holmes movie, a USA cartoon.

March Theme
March Theme

The theme is amazing this month! The theme is Sherlock Bones. I want a subscription box to curate a box for me using the same theme!

The Featured Product of the Month is The Telephone Booth by Think Pet Innovations.

Theme
First Peek

The theme looks great. I am not sure if Daisy, our English Shepherd, will consider the toys to be babies. Read on to find out!

SawMill Creek Pig Ear
Sawmill Creek  Smokehouse Pig Ear

The Sawmill Creek Smokehouse Pig Ear ($3.00) was a hit for Daisy. She went for it right away and ate it outside.

Treats
Superior Farms Pet Provisions Lamb Lung Toasters

The Superior Farms Pet Provisions ($9.00) is a grain free, high protein treat. I tried not to think about what I was touching as I set up the photo. It is a one-ingredient treat consisting of dried lamb lung. Gross! All three dogs loved it. The lamb lungs are from their farms in New Zealand and the USA. They are packaged in the USA. Our two collies approve of the collie on the package.

Sherlock Bones
Sherlock Bones

The Sherlock Bones Grain Free Cheese Recipe ($8.00) is made exclusive for Barkbox. The treats are adorable and are perfect for the Sherlock Bones theme. The back package has a free offer to try Koha Dog Food. Bring the bag to a participating dealer to receive a free can. There is a local dealer near me that sells Koha. I am going to stop in and see if they are participating. I am going to pick up a few cans anyways because Daisy has a chicken allergy, and there is no chicken in the flavors that I checked. Bella and Odie loved the treats. Daisy did not eat any because the first ingredient is chicken!

Sherlock Bones
Sherlock Bones

The Sherlock Bones ($13.00) is a plush with a squeaker. It is made by Bark & Co. Is it a Daisy worthy baby? Or will it become a chew toy? It is sturdy enough for playing depending which dog has it.

Telephone Booth
Telephone Booth

The Telephone Booth, ($14.00) is another great inclusion! J, age 7, thought it was a building. He’s never seen a real telephone booth.  The featured product of the month is a heavy chewer toy according to the Barkbox description. I was slightly disappointed by that because I am not subscribed to the heavy chewer edition. It is not a Daisy toy. The toy will not go to waste because I do have two heavy chewers.

Doggie Photos! Bella is not in the pictures because she did not like the toys. I also did not include photos of the doggies eating their treats because none of them looked pretty. It’s all teeth, crumbs, and drool!

Daisy
Daisy

Daisy, our English Shepherd, has first dibs. She ignored the toys and went directly to the pig ear. The toys did not look like babies to her this month.

Odie
Odie

Odie is a Borader (half Border Collie/Half Labrador Retriever). His temperament is of a Labrador Retriever even though his body has Border Collie markings. He’s trying to look serious as he promises me not to tear apart the toys on the first day.

Odie played with Sherlock Bones for a few minutes. Then he noticed the telephone booth. I fully expect Odie and Bella, our Rat Terrier, to play together with Sherlock Bones at another time.

Odie loved the Telephone Booth. He spent a couple of hours chewing on it. It is starting to fray in the one corner. I expected that because he is a heavy chewer and destroys all types of toys.

Regarding the small dog box versus the large dog box – they are different this month! Be sure to check out Brandy’s review of the  March Barkbox for small dogs. It is adorable!

I love the Sherlock Bones theme! Everything fit perfectly with the theme. The doggies loved the treats. The toys were well-themed too – Barkbox did an awesome job this month!
