When you sign up for WorldlyBox, you’ll complete a style quiz to gauge your tastes in jewelry.  This is fairly in-depth and requires you to select multiple pieces from lineups.  Your boxes are then curated to match your quiz preferences.  When I took my quiz, I was very open to necklaces and earrings.  I love bracelets and rings, but have large wrists and fingers so most of those don’t go on easily.

I love how pretty this box is!  Although simple and rustic, the wrapping still looks elegant.  The gift tag was even personalized with my name.

My first look in.  I thought it was a nice touch that the tissue inside the box matched the outer wrapping.

The information card provides details on your pieces’ country of origin and notes about the artisans who created them.  Unfortunately, there is no information on the materials used in the jewelry.  This may be a drawback for those with sensitive skin.  Currently, WordlyBox has curated pieces from Mali, Kenya, El Salvador, Indonesia, China, and several other countries.

There was also a welcome note for me that contained WordlyBox’s philosophy and mission.

Everything arrived packed in its own organza bag and lying on a layer of batting in the box.

Look at all the vibrant and pretty colors!

Handcrafted Earrings by Gabriela Yepez ($14.99):  These earrings, or something similar, were one of my #1 picks on my style quiz.  They are crafted by Venezuelan artisan Gabriela Yepez.  I love the pastel colors and tear drop champagne-colored pearl set against the gold tone.  They will be a great accessory with my spring wardrobe!

Handcrafted Tassel Necklace by Arrecife Accessorios ($16.00):  The artisans who created this stunning multicolored sparkler, are based in Valencia, Venezuela.  This necklace originally retailed for $32, but is now showing as sold out with a $16 price point.  I love long necklaces, and tassels are SO back in this season.  Plus, the variety of colors in the necklace make it very versatile.  My only complaint is that the tassel is in a plastic casing.  Spanish 101 lesson:  the word arrecife is Spanish for coral reef.

I wanted to show you the length in the first picture.  Here’s a close up of the beads and stone pendant.

Guatemalan Pouch and Keychain ($?):  This was my artisan surprise.  I really like the pattern on the pouch.  It has already become my new coin purse.  The keychain is cute but will be a display piece.  I don’t think the little lady could handle day-to-day usage.

WordlyBox promises a retail value of $40+ in every box.  If you use the original retail for the tassel necklace, then that promise was kept.  Truly, I’m not sure how to rate the overall value – it was more than the cost of the subscription.  I liked the pieces I received, and they will certainly get worn.   I had a hard time finding the retail for the pieces I received because they were not on the WordlyBox Shop, and there is no search function on the site.  I actually had to do a Google search that linked me back to WordlyBox’s product pages.  And, those pages had limited information about materials.   Although there were some definite issues, I feel the subscription is a nice way to add some unique pieces to my jewelry collection at a reasonable price.
