White Willow Box is a fairly new Canadian subscription box featuring lifestyle items that are thoughtfully curated and selected. Past items have included Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, and David’s Tea, so I felt confident that this would be a great lifestyle box for me. Boxes ship on the first of the month from Vancouver, so my box arrived the very next day — I do love instant gratification!

The trademark white box box ships in a plain cardboard outer box, which honestly I don’t think is necessary — for me, I get more excited recognising the familiar packaging of my favourite subscription boxes!

The packaging is beautiful and simple — even the satin ribbon bears the name of the box.

Since this was my first box, they included a welcome card as well. The theme is quite obviously a Valentines Day theme, but the items included can all be enjoyed any day of the year. One of the items was also individually wrapped in red tissue which was a nice touch.

Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mist in Total Attraction ($10.00) They sent this out in three scents — Sheer Love and Romantic were the other two options.

Victoria’s Secret Hand & Body Lotion in Total Attraction ($18.00) The lotion matches the perfume. I’m not the type of person who likes to have them match; I usually prefer to layer. So I’m not sure whether I would have preferred another scent for one, since I do really love the scent of this! The perfume already has a home in my purse since it’s so convenient and the lotion’s on my nightstand. I love the packaging — it’s perfect for the holiday and feels very luxe.

Just another example of how lovely the presentation is in this box! This small box was scented strongly of chocolate, and it became clear why!

Hand Made Chocolates ($8.00) These are right from award-winning Chez Christophe in Burnaby, BC. These made it a whole 24 hours before I indulged. The top-left was a hazelnut creme with cinnamon sugar, and it was definitely my favourite.

Votive Candle Holder ($6.00) This shiny silver-toned candle holder is definitely my style, and they even included a tea light.

Jewelry Roll ($39,50, on sale for $4.50) This was the spoiler item! They teased it on Facebook and were actually responding to hopeful comments about which colour we’d most like, so apparently Cupid heard my wish as I’d longed for the pink. This is a very handy and functional jewelry roll, with lots of zippered compartments and loops to organise your sparklies while traveling. On their website, Indigo refers to the inner lining as the ‘colour’ and not the outer material. The other colours were red, gold (with black interior) and turquoise.

The item is available for a deep discount right now, which is a bit disappointing, but it’s still an item I would use.

Rounding up the jewelry roll from its current retail price to $5, I calculated a value of $47 for February’s White Willow Box. With the price plus shipping for the box itself, the value is pretty much what I paid, which is a bit underwhelming for my first month. But I think the curation is excellent, and that’s something to consider as well when choosing a box. All items included are items I would pick up for myself. I will be continuing my White Willow Box subscription as I think it’s shaping up to be a great box! FYI – the total cost shipped to the US works out to be around $35USD.

I just tried to subscribe to this box & it says that shipping to US is $18.95? which brings total cost up to $54.50. Has this changed from previous months?

Quite possibly. Shipping hasn’t changed to Canada so my subscription was consistent in terms of what was charged, but I can’t tell you what shipping was to the US at the time of the February review. You would need to reach out to WWB directly to ask if their shipping has increased.

I agree very beautiful when lit ( love the design). You may also wish to try with flame of varying color . I happen to have blue on hand.

The tealight holder is really pretty once it’s lit! Thanks for the comment. 🙂

My first box arrived yesterday. WW customer service was very prompt & has been awesome after my inquiry (regarding a January box). Courtesy goes a long way. I am enjoying the items i.e..the pink jewlery roll is perfect for traveling. The Sheer Love fragrance is light and fresh ( wonderful since I am sensitive to many heavier scents) I plan on using the tealight/candle holder soon.

I agree. Definitely not the quality I had seen in dec and Jan which got me to purchase this as a gift. I hope they can get back up to the top with the next month. Victoria secret should never be in a box!!!

Thanks for the comment, Sue. I was definitely hoping for something like the Kate Spade agenda or even some goodies from David’s Tea. That the most high-value item is less than $5 on sale isn’t the greatest, but I think I’ll give it another month and go from there.

And personally, I like Victoria’s Secret, so it wasn’t a huge downside for me – it just shouldn’t be the most high-value item in the box!
