Surprise My Pet February 2016 Subscription Box Review & Coupons

February’s Surprise My Pet was, unsurprisingly, a Valentine’s Day collection!  Surprise My Pet is a surprise variety box each month for your dogs.  The Surprise Box includes fun toys, treats, and other goodies. They have a new (significantly) lower price than previously!  This box offers four sizes: tiny (less than 10 pounds), small (10-20 pounds), medium (20-50 pounds), or large (50+ pounds). This is the small dog box!

The box arrives with a cover sheet obscuring the contents — your pup will smell the goodies, but it’ll keep you guessing.  The box has recently changed ownership, but we didn’t notice any changes to the contents of the box

Play Around Hound Mini Tennis Balls ($3.56, derived from Amazon bulk pricing):  These are sized nicely for smaller dogs — my pup always makes a horrible sound when trying to run with a full-size tennis ball in her mouth.  The four pack means less crawling under the couch or into the poison ivy to fetch stray tosses.

Jack for Joy! ($9.99):  Made from shatter-proof plastic, this toy is ultra-durable.  The classic jack shape means that there is always a peg standing upright for your dog to grab onto.

Flavorit Peanut Butter Bone ($7.58):  This tiny rubber bone comes pre-flavored with peanut butter, but it is designed to be smeared with anything your dog likes to eat.  The tiny holes hang on to anything remotely viscous, and the concave shaft keeps the filling from resting directly against your floor or carpet.

Handy Solutions Lint Roller ($0.75):  For those of you who are not blessed with a non-shedding pet, this handy lint roller is an essential tool for keeping your clothes presentable.  This version is tiny and perfect for keeping in your purse, car, or your desk at work.

Ry’s Ruffery Healthy Dog Treats ($4.75):   These unique bones are both vegetarian and grain-free!  Peanut butter makes them delicious. Even though they looked dense they weren’t (which Lindy prefers!).

Puffsters Chips ($3.99):  Given the enormous variety of puffed snacks for people, I’m a bit surprised that this is the first I’ve seen of a puffed dog treat.  Made primarily of tapioca and potato starch, these puffs are light and crunchy.  Real chicken and cranberry adds flavors your dog will love, but I am a bit wary around light-colored carpets.

Given the change in ownership, we are keen to see if any changes will be made to philosophy or contents of this subscription.  The new management team put out a call for comments, so I suspect any changes will be in the direction of making the box even better for customers.  For now, nothing appears to have changed, and the box remains a great combo of treats and toys tailored to your dog’s size.
