stitch fix february 2016 box

My February Stitch Fix was all about keeping me warm! Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. Your stylist will send you 5 pieces based on your profile for you to try on at home and hopefully fall in love with. There are no coupons for Stitch Fix but if you hit the jackpot and keep everything, you save 25% on your whole fix (read below for details).

Everything always comes wrapped so neatly!  It makes it really fun to open!

stitch fix february 2016 styling card

Every box includes a set of styling cards with suggestions on how to wear the particular item. There’s usually a dressed up (right) and dressed down (left) version for each piece of clothing. I do wish these cards were accessible in your Stitch Fix profile. If you email them they’ll send them via PDF. Stitch Fix customer service has been super helpful lately!  I also find the styling cards very helpful. I am not a naturally good-at-fashion person and these help a LOT. Even if I don’t keep the pieces I use them as inspiration – like my own personal fashion editor!

Here’s how Stitch Fix works: fill out your style profile! This includes style, budget, what you’re looking for, and you can get as detailed as you want with the notes to your stylist. It really really does help to provide notes to what you’re seeking, and a Pinterest board if you have one! You will be charged a $20 styling fee and shipped five items to try on at home. If you keep anything your styling fee will be applied to your order, but if you don’t, you will pay the $20 fee. This is so worth it. If you keep everything you get a 25% discount, so it pays off to be specific. You will check out and get charged through your Stitch Fix account. Return thepieces you don’t want in the prepaid mailer (free shipping!).

Everything in my fix for February.Market & Spruce Torrence Textured Knit Sweatshirtstitch fix february 2016

Market & Spruce Torrence Textured Knit Sweatshirt ($64)  I love the patterns on this sweatshirt! This is what Stitch Fix is all about for me – getting you out of a boring shirt rut and elevating your style, even for every day. It was just so super cute and I loved everything about this shirt.

ARATTA Lebray Button Down Topstitch fix february 2016

ARATTA Lebray Button Down Top ($64) I haven’t run into this problem in a while, but this shirt was just way too tight on the bust. I made sure to note my feedback in the application. Overall I liked the very flattering cut of the fabric on this shirt but I wished it was bigger!

41Hawthorn Berneen Dolman Knit Topstitch fix february 2016 41Hawthorn Berneen Dolman Knit Top ($58) I have this top in a different pattern but it didn’t stop me from keeping this super work-friendly top. My stylist knows me well enough to know I’m all about the dolman and it just looks great on me – my colors too!

Andrew Marc Skagen Down Puffer Coat openstitch fix february 2016

Andrew Marc Skagen Down Puffer Coat ($148) I was crazy excited about this – not only is it a super stylish and flattering coat, but it’s DOWN! Something I can actually wear around here. They probably reserve these for people requesting serious winter gear because not everyone really wants a down coat, but I sure do. This was amazing!closedstitch fix february 2016

It’s cute all buttoned up too and nice and warm. All the details that I expect in a down coat are there too – snaps over the zipper (no silly buttons), cuffed sleeves, buttonuppable neck part (I don’t know what it’s called), and a faux fur trim (which I prefer).

Tea N Rose Westbury Crochet Detail Hoodie frontstitch fix february 2016

Tea N Rose Westbury Crochet Detail Hoodie ($54) This is super cute and is also a nice upgrade for my casual style. The heather knit is pretty but it’s the back side that has all the detail.

My stylist was totally on point on this box. I asked for warmer stuff and jeweltones, and she absolutely delivered! I’m really curious to see what she’ll send in my next box.

A couple weeks ago Stitch Fix sent out this really silly graphic about work style wear so my note for my next fix reads in its entirety: just FYI, the phrase business shorts is not in my vocab. 🙂 They did have a disclaimer on their post about their more casual office environment!  Let me know what you got in your fix and if you are ok with the phrase “business shorts.”

What do you think about a service similar to Stitch Fix but with pre-owned clothes? Where the average cost of an item is around $15-$20 instead of $55.00?

Oh I love that coat. I so don’t need a down coat but I do need to get a bit of a better coat. Maybe a lighter wet puffer jacket or something. When we had snow the other day I realized that my “heavy” coat I actually go tin college and up yeah I’ve been out for almost 20 year. LOL It is barnstyle too so you know its pretty old. I just don’t wear them nearly enough down here.
