Everything in my February 2016 Sci-Fi Block!

Star Wars Knit Storm Trooper Pom-Pom Beanie ($15.87?) Even though I already have a SW pom-pom beanie from my Loot Crate Star Wars box (which is insanely still available), I was really psyched to get this one because of the awesome design (and eventually someone else in my family will start stealing my hats!). This is perfect for next week, when it will snow like mad! I thought it was great to see the dark side get a little love too.

I love it! It’s not wool so everyone except southerners and Californians can probably use it on a chilly day. I personally love the winter gear trend that I’ve been seeing in subscription boxes, but I do wear a hat every day in the winter.

Funko ReAction Alien Figure with Metallic Flesh ($10.30) This is awesome because it’s metallic, and although it’s throwback styled, it was never produced! Subscribers could have also received Kane, a chestburster, or Ripley. or the facehugger! (see the card above).

Funko POP Marvel: Guardians of The Galaxy Series 2 Yondu Action Figure ($5.89) I was soooo sad when I saw Yondu – only because we already have him, and I really wanted the Collector, which some subscribers received. Bummer!

Star Trek Communicator Notepad: They made a really big deal of this being an exclusive item, but it’s just a cheap little notepad. Fun, but a bit odd to make such a big deal about it!

I <3 Star Wars Shirt Punch Shirt: A take on the I <3 NY shirt, this is really fun!

This box had pretty good curation in terms of variety of items (although the notepad bordered on lame). I loved the beanie, liked the shirt. I thought it could use some attention to different franchises than we’ve seen over the first few boxes, but I was ok with them riding Star Wars fervor for another month! Check out the March spoilers here (and yes, more Star Wars). I’m excited to see what’s in it, but I would love to see some love for Farscape, X-Files, Dune, and anything from Neal Stephenson, Douglas Adams, Asimov, Clarke, etc. In my opinion this box should pay a lot more attention to classic science fiction!
