Bookcase Club Subscription Box Review & Coupon – February 2016 Blind Date Case

This is a good size box with two full-sized books in it.

A Happy Valentine’s Day card with handwritten note accompanied the books along with short blurbs about each.

The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo ($21.14) This one looks really interesting to me. I do not know much about ghost brides well really all I know is from a Bones episode but this makes for an interesting premise to a coming of age story.

The pages are so soft and have an old book feel.  I love old books and going to the library and used bookstores and when a book gets well loved and weathered feeling it is just fantastic. With this book about culture it really is a nice touch.

Soul Stripper by Katana Collins(Book One of The Soul Stripper Trilogy) ($14.00) Funny story but I was drinking soda while opening this box and when I pulled this one out and read the title and then the note under it I almost spit my soda out on everything around me.  This is my kind of book. It has a supernatural element and seems like lighter fare.  I’m all about a book I can really get into and don’t have to think to much and I have a feeling this will be right up my alley.

It’s called Sin City for a reason. Nowhere else are the temptations so great, the sex so good, and the demons so bad. . .

By day, Monica is a barista in a local café. It doesn’t pay a lot but it puts her up close and personal with her sexy boss, Drew. Unfortunately that’s as far as a succubus can go unless she wants to take his soul. Monica needs mind blowing sex to sustain her and she finds her victims every night at a local strip club where she’s an exotic dancer. But when her powers begin to diminish and her fellow succubi start turning up dead, all bets are off. Monica realizes she’s the one immortal who has a chance in hell of making things right. . .

I’m happy with the books in my BookCase.Club this month.  I tend to get stuck with the same authors over and over and it is nice to get a genre I like but are by people I may not normally pick out on my own.  I’ve been reading a lot lately so getting selections right to my house will be great and I expect to move through these pretty fast.  The value of my box this month was $35.14 which is well over the cost of the box and while they aren’t brand new releases they are ones I have never heard of or read so good for me and expanding my reading library.  I also like that they sent the first book in a trilogy that all of the books are already released so when I love the book I can quickly pick up the other two and blow through them.  I love binge reading series. 🙂  I can’t wait to see what other books come in future months!
