Bluum is a baby and kids subscription box full of age-specific developmentally appropriate items for your child (with mom items too). Bluum now has a box item preference system to help adjust what goes into your boxes – so you can nix diapering items, mom items, etc, or keep those in! It’s up to you. And on top of that you can now customize your box completely! Cut-off is the 4th of the month at 11:59 PM EST to build your own box! Note that picking your own items is “Pick Products” and selecting the areas you want more for is “customize your box” on your account page.
We reset the age for our box so we could select items that were more appropriate for our baby (who is quickly becoming a toddler!). So it’s an imaginary 3 year old child box. He’s now officially pre-K.
There is no specific theme to Bluum boxes, nor is there a real information card – Bluum checks the tracking and when your box is delivered, a list of the items inside your box is emailed to you. I let Bluum pick my products this month. I thought last month was boring so I wanted to give them another shot at selecting my products before I returned to selecting my own.
Faber-Castell Brilliant Beeswax Crayons in Storage Case ($5.49) Absolutely thrilled with these! We got our first sets in Citrus Lane and they’ve been used heavily – they’re my son’s favorite crayons – large and chunky (but not oddly shaped) and glide smoothly across the paper. He thinks that peach color is perfect for coloring Kiwi Crate‘s Steve the Kiwi.
Crocodile Creek Snack Keepers – Robot – Set of 2 ($7.99) These are also a hit! We have struggled with easily-openable (but not too easily) containers for snacks for lunches – these are perfect and will keep our daughter’s snacks from getting crushed.
Goo Goo Baby TOTSPOT Hands-Free Childcare Light – Green ($8.99) Well, this is kind of just a bit odd. “The Totspot will not prevent you from falling back to sleep peacefully (does not stimulate Seratonin production in your brain with only 2500 millicandelas).” Last time I checked any child waking me up in the middle of the night prevented me from falling back to sleep peacefully! Usually it’s someone puking. Usually off the top bunk. Onto two mattresses and as much bedding as possible. I digress.
This comes with a handy lanyard. Although I’ve totally mocked this I’m sure some parents will find it useful, and I’ve already thought of an alternative use – a handy extra light for night driving when I need to fish something out and the regular lights won’t do. Bluum always has some sort of weird item in it!
Mudpuppy Make-a-Mask – Farm Animals ($11.99) My kids love these fun masks and I believe that I’ll save this one for a playdate or a party, because there’s 20 of em! Great activity!
My Super Foods My Super Cookies – Honey Heroes ($4.99) Organic, nut-free, non-GMO, and tasty! These made us happy! We’d love to try all the flavors!
This was a great installment of Bluum! Everything was useful, fun, and the total value was about $39.49. Not too much over the monthly cost, but the subscription price goes down quite a bit with a 6 month or annual subscription, which is what we do! I was so happy with this month I’m going to give Bluum another shot at selecting my products once again!

Hi Brandy, I tried Bluum after reading your reviews and must say I am sorely disappointing. I tried them after Citrus Lane closed down. I was forced to purchase two gift subscriptions because Bluum has no other options for twins. One of the packages arrived damaged and was marked so by the postal service due to an improperly packed liquid cleaner. My efforts to get a replacement have been met with apathy and stonewalling. Ugh and never again. I would like you to consider this in any updated reviews you provide on the company.
I have always had good results with their customer service, which I have detailed in all of my reviews (I do not do anything special I just contact them through my account). I wasn’t impressed with the value of my March box. The review is already scheduled. I suggest with any subscription if you didn’t get what you paid for (like if your items are damaged) is to contact your credit card company.
