allure beauty box february 2016 box

Allure Beauty Box is a beauty subscription that sends 5 deluxe samples – makeup, skin, hair, accessories, and fragrance.  Samples are chosen by Allure magazine editors. The new name is confusing, because what’s now known as Allure Beauty Thrills was formerly the Allure Beauty Box.

There’s a mini magazine in every box and it’s very editorial – the Allure editors pick every product and give tips on use and why they like it. Or why you might not.

Everything in the box!

Hello Breath Spray in Pink Grapefruit Mint ($3.79) I love grapefruit anything and this spray tastes great and actually destroys icky breath! It uses xylitol, which is not just a breath freshener, it kills cavity causing bacteria.

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream ($3.33) An all natural super rich handcream – perfect for healing dry hands without fragrance! Mine is almost already gone!

Lancôme Visionnaire Nuit Beauty Sleep Perfector Advanced Multi-Correcting Gel-in-Oil ($5.23) This is a gel that’s supposed to go on like an oil once your body temperature warms it up, but on my skin it just felt like… a gel. I didn’t really get anything out of it – it just wasn’t for me! (Also what’s wrong with me that it didn’t melt on my skin??)

Pur~lisse Daily Lip Moisturizer ($16) I really like the focus on 2 healing items this month without extra crap. This smooths right on your lips and doesn’t get gunky – and it’s full size. Win.

Kevin Murphy Hydrate-Me.Wash ($5.20) Hydrate-Me.Rinse ($5.20) I probably wouldn’t rebuy these, simply due to the total price, but I sure did like the sweet scent and the results! The wash is infused with kukadu plum and the rinse is made with shea butter and evening primrose oil. Good Australian import!

Bvlgari Omnia Paraiba ($6.33) This bottle! I love love love Omnia and was excited to try this new variation, which is heavy on passionfruit, bigarade orange (bittersweet), passionflower, gardenia, cocoa beans, and vetiver. This screams resort season to me. I loved how the booklet was very clear on not spilling it due to the bottle design (it’s a bottle/dabber, not a spritz).

Thank you for sharing all these spoilers! This box looks decadent, and I can get an idea of the products. I got my first sub a year ago to Ipsy, later added Beauty Box 5 and finally Birchbox. My favorite is ipsy because I want to try new makeup, and it is probably the only one I’ll keep when the subs run out. I already have my skincare down, but I have learned of some new treats thanks to the boxes!

I quit this one awhile back, but this box and the spoilers for the next one are giving me second thoughts. I just don’t want to have billing issues with them again (they were double charging me for boxes for awhile).

I emailed them yesterday about the whole second tier subscriber issue for people who are being billed through Beauty Bar. Not cool.
