Here’s the first look at the January On Trend Korean Beauty Curated Box!

A closer look
A closer look

It’s a great mixture of K-Beauty items. I recognize a few brands. Let’s take a closer look!

Goodal Phytowash
Goodal Phytowash Products
The Goodal Phytowash Yerba Mate Cleansing Foam ($0.67) is a gentle cleanser with a pleasing scent. A few ingredients that I am excited to see listed are bergamot fruit oil, lavender extract, and olive fruit oils. There’s enough cleanser for 1-2 washes.
The Goodal Phytowash Yerbal Mate Bubble Peeling ($3.30) is a gentle exfoliator that does not strip the skin. Salicylic acid removes the dead skin while the green tea extract evens out the complexion. The yerba mate nourishes the skin. The peel is best used once to twice a week. There is enough in the foil for 1-2 uses.
A Mask!!!
A Mask!!!
The Manefit Beauty Planner Cucumber Soothing + Moisturizing Mask ($2) is a microfiber sheet mask. It’s the perfect time to use a cucumber mask when people tend to be spending more time inside or in the dry air outside. I plan to use this mask in a few days.
Instructions
Instructions

There are instructions further down the packet in English. Here are a few tips if you are new to sheet masks. Store it in a warm spot in the house if your house is cool. You do not want to be wearing a cold mask in the winter! Dump any of the extra essence on your neck or face. The sheet will start to feel dry as the essence soaks into your skin. This is how you know you are done. I find my chin finishes quicker than my cheeks. Rub in extra essence into your skin upon removing your mask.

Goodal Waterst First Essence
Goodal Waterst First Essence
The Goodall Waterst First Essence ($1.20) has a wonderful lotus flower scent. Korean skincare has more steps than the standard American skincare routine. Essence is the step after the toner and the step before the serum. It absorbed well into my skin without any issues. It contains hyaluronic acid that works miracles on my rosacea.
RE:P Bio Fresh Mask
RE:P Bio Fresh Mask
The Re:P Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herb ($6.15) reduces redness and calms skin. Call me interested! It’s great that Birchbox included two types of masks because masks are important in the K-Beauty skincare routine. I rubbed a little on my hand. It has a light herb scent and the texture of a clay mask. I can’t wait to try it out!
IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer
IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer
The IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer ($4.90) has an SPF factor of 15. It’s a  creamy formula that has no noticeable scent. I noticed a glow when I rubbed it onto my hand.
Tony Moly
Tony Moly
Tony Moly is one of the more recognizable Korean brands in the USA. The Tony Moly Delight Tony Tint in Red ($1.50?) has a fruity scent to it. It goes on lightly and is easy to add more intensity.
Swatch
Swatch
The color looked more like a berry than a deep red on my lips. The tint has staying power. It was hard to remove from my arm and is still on my lips hours later. It felt watery to me, but it did not run.
The January On Trend Korean Beauty Curated Box had proven to be a great selection for me this month. I am excited about the products and am able to use all of them. My favorites to try are the sheet mask. It’s also a great introduction to those that are new to Korean Beauty. The total value was about $20.

I have not opened my curated BB box yet but I am looking forward to it! That is a good swatch of the lippie you can see the true color because you zoomed. Pretty flower too love your pictures with the special extra touches. Also very glad your skin agreed with a whole BB 🙂

Pnut, thank you! I struggled with the swatch photo and decided that zoomed in looked best. I’m surprised I can use a whole BB!

I started reading before looking at the author (just assumed this was a Brandy post) and partway through I could tell it was PA Anna! Is it creepy that I know your “voice” / writing style that well?? 🙂

I’ve been toying with KBeauty a tiny bit (I love to read about it) and was SO excited when Birchbox offered this box! I haven’t actually tried any of it yet (product overload) but I’m very happy with it and most excited about the Waterest Essence and the sheet mask – I love sheet masks!

Very happy to hear that you are able to use all these products. I was sort of thinking of KBeauty as opposite to “natural” beauty products (which I know you love) but I think there is room for both in a beauty routine!

Not creepy 🙂 You are observant.

Are you still doing one mask a week? I’ve gotten away form that and need to start up again. KBeauty is fun to try out. Let me know what you think!

“Natural” beauty products are my favorite:) I like KBeauty because they are ahead of the game when it comes to reducing redness and inflammation in the face. The product designs are cute.
