POPSUGAR Must Have Today Show Special Edition Box Review

The POPSUGAR Special Edition Today Show Box is a one-time box offered by POPSUGAR filled with holiday survival items selected by the editors of POPSUGAR and the Today Show to make your holiday season fun and stress-free. If you’re unfamiliar with them, POPSUGAR Must Have Box is a monthly women’s subscription box. You’ll receive items from a mix of categories like beauty, home, accessories, jewelry, etc. It’s one of the most popular subscription boxes around!

Unlike the other Special Edition boxes, this one didn’t come in a black box – it was in a cardboard box (inside the outer shipping box) with a nice label wrapped around it.

My box was a bit rumply upon opening. The items weren’t individually wrapped in tissue like the standard issue Special Edition boxes, and that would have been a presentation upgrade, as well as provided additional protection for the items.

For 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Box is offering Holiday for Her ($100), Holiday for Him ($100), the Neiman Marcus box ($250), and a special Today Show Holiday collaboration ($75).

Barr-Co. Fir And Grapefruit Bubble Elixir ($32)  This is a vegan and paraben-free formula and the scent is so great! Grapefruit is one of my faves and combined with fir it’s super relaxing but feels like the holidays. I don’t typically take a bath so I will use it in the shower!

Found Goods Market Homestead Candle Special Holiday Edition ($23.50)  This is a gorgeous candle! I love the design, but mine was dented up a bit (probably by the giant bubble bath – I have an email in to POPSUGAR about it). It’s incredibly strongly scented and I love the pick of a luxury candle for a special edition box like this – I may not buy it in my own, but I am super pleased to have it! The scent I received was Juniper Twig, but purchasers may receive one of a variety of limited edition holiday scents.

I included this photo for scale – the Oribe is a travel/deluxe size dry shampoo. The body wash is absolutely huge and that is a substantial candle!

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($22)  I love this texturizing spray (which is so much more than a dry shampoo!). It makes my hair look really great and I always reach for a can of it when I want to look really good. I tend to hoard my Oribe so I will be much more likely to use this all season!

Jacobsen Salt Co. Salty Caramels ($3.50)  These caramels are quite firm and match their nice buttery taste with contrasting salt (but not overly so – I wouldn’t call them salty at all). Yummy (but very chewy).

Knot & Bow Parcel Tags ($4) I love gift tags like these ones because I can use plain paper (I have been known to use grocery bags and aluminum foil!) and just add a tag!

Ciate x Olivia Palermo London: The Cheekbone Cheat Blusher Bronzer Duo ($32)  This is such a pretty compact and I definitely don’t mind slipping this one out of my bag in public!

The bronzer and blusher themselves are sheer and understated and will work with a variety of skin tones to add just a nice touch of color. The pan was loose from the case, which can be reglued, but I included a photo of the loose pan in my email about my dented candle anyways. Since I also had a broken candle in my Holiday for Her box, I’m expecting them to make it right in some way!

As an added benefit the formula contains bamboo extract to manage any oil or sheen, making it purse worthy.

Eyes by ToGoSpa ($12.50)  We’ve seen these in a POPSUGAR box before – January 2015 – but I still love them and they have a great subscription. They really are perfect for before a party! Read all The ToGoSpa Society Reviews.

Govino: Go Anywhere Wine Glasses ($22.95) These are great extras to have for a party, and they project the aromatics of wine just like crystal and have a handy dandy thumb indentation too. I believe they have always been dishwasher safe but they redesigned the packaging and highlighted that fact on the box.

I definitely have trouble storing lots of glasses for a party but my grandparents love these so I am gifting them (along with a case of wine!). They’re pretty much the ultimate hostess gift. (BTW, I use these glasses for my own home because they are so easy to store and useful for everything.)

This box definitely matched the holiday survival theme – and everything was put into use pretty much right away! I love a box that you don’t really have to think about using and all the items just fit in to your life. I thought it was great to mix a little personal luxury (or holiday recovery and wind down – or wine down!) with items for parties and gifting!

That being said – a few of the items were essentially repeats (Govino, the tags, and the EYES) so loyal addicts may have been disappointed. This box was curated for the very broad Today Show audience so I can absolutely understand why they chose to include a few past favorites. However, the box value ($152) was about double the purchase price ($75) so it was a really awesome box in that respect.
