Eucopia is a new monthly subscription that strives to deliver interesting and useful items from around the world, allowing you to sample the world’s best from the comfort of home.
The inaugural box was themed “Sweet”! The booklet included in the box has info on each product, a recipe for crepes, and an interview with the designer of the cake server included in the box.
Items included in the box came from France, Finland, Italy, and Croatia. A passport booklet and Eucopia passport stamps for each location were included.

Kinder Happy Hippo (Italy – $2): Two of these crispy little guys came in the box. They are a crunchy ice-cream cone style wafer filled with hazelnut creme and dipped in candy crunches. We love Kinder anything!
Biobu by Ekobo Biodegradable Bamboo Fibre Plates (France – $32): A set of four beautifully bright bamboo plates. These are extremely solid and durable and thick — even dishwasher safe — yet they degrade within 2 years if buried. These are a modern eco-friendly version of our favorite Tupperware lunch plates, and we’ll put them into service right away. Perfect for some cute appetizers with some wine.
Podravka Rose Hip Jam (Croatia – $6?): A thick, delicious jam with a wonderful flavor similar to a mellow strawberry jam. It’s also full of vitamin C. We loved this unusual jam! Rose petals lend a sweet and floral nature to it, creating a fragrant and lovely condiment suitable for toast, cheese, or similar use. Flowers make a superb jam, having all the flavor and nuance of fruit jam (and an even richer olfactory presence).
Magisso Cake Server (Finland – $15.95): This elegant server both cuts and serves cake with style and beauty.
This was a fun selection of items, focusing on the practical and the culinary. I really liked the balance between beauty and practicality shown in the plates and cake server — they were lovely to look at, but also very durable and suited for everyday use. We’re fans of European design and we enjoyed everything in the box. Next month’s theme is “Gifts!”
