Elementary Box is a monthly subscription box service for the elementary teacher & classroom. Every box includes teaching resources, fun incentives for students, and a special gift for the teacher. Their mission is to lighten the load of teachers and give them a well-deserved treat, while boosting student success and a sense of community in the classroom (or homeschool).
We received the 4th grade box for December!
For planning purposes, ElementaryBox begins shipping around the 22nd of the month for the following month’s box. This way teachers receive the box-of-the-month before that month actually begins, and they have plenty of time to integrate any time-sensitive materials into their lesson plans. Boxes are curated for PreK through 5th grade – choose the grade that you teach!
Everything in the December 2015 ElementaryBox for Fourth Grade.! The items ranged from treats for the students, classroom decor, learning aids, and a teacher treat!
Edupress Exploring Nonfiction Cards- Grade 4: These are really neat, and definitely very interesting. The front of each card features an engaging article – each with some sort of pull-out highlighting interesting facts and data.
The back of the card comes with a few comprehension questions, then several activities and writing prompts. You could plan an entire lesson or unit over each of the cards, delving deeply into the subject matter through the writing exercises, or just use them for an extra activity with the comprehension questions.
A complete teacher’s guide comes with the cards, explaining how there are 5 types of text included (descriptive, sequence, compare/contrast, cause/effect, and problem/solution), as well as ideas for whole-class instruction as well as individual instruction.
Polar Bear Erasers: These are super cute erasers, and there’s enough for every student in the class for a special holiday treat from the teacher, or to use as rewards. We sent them in with our daughter for her birthday and they were a giant hit!
Tasty Tasks – Idioms, Adages, and Proverbs Task Cards: 48 cards with 2 rings, each is two-sided and contains an engaging activity for working with unique language. These cards are great for centers, games, takehome activities, or downtime. We didn’t think anything of it but the brightly colored watermelon border was like a magnet for kids – our daughter immediately grabbed them and started working on them.
Edupress Snowmen MyFace Bulletin Board Accents: There are 6 designs and this makes such a cute classroom decoration to personalize with student photos. Teachers already know it, but it really makes kids feel special to have their art hung up and their photos hung up.
Hanna Herbals Peppermint Foot Cream: What a perfect addition for someone who is on their feet all day! As part of a research project I actually taught in a middle school for a year, and it’s pretty brutal on your feet. This a very thick cream, almost like a salve, with lanolin and shea butter to help heal your feet from all that standing. The peppermint is not only invigorating, but helps relieve pain as well.
I thought this was a truly fantastic box from Elementary Box! It had a great assortment of materials and I think any teacher would be delighted to subscribe for herself and it would make a really wonderful gift for a teacher. Boxes always contain materials for students, the classroom, and for the teacher with grade-level appropriate items.
