The box includes a giant information card with recipes, tips, complete information on each product, and a nice letter from the curators about the December theme of Happy and Healthy Holiday.  It is a very thorough card.

rawbox december 2015 review

Everything in the box! This isn’t a just food box – it’s more like a lifestyle subscription for raw foodists.

WrawPs Spicy Organic Gluten-Free Wraps ($8.99) Zucchini, apples, flax seed, coconut, turmeric, jalapenos, onion, cayenne, and salt! This is a really cool product and if you yearn for a bread-like object to wrap your veggies in, this is pretty awesome. I thought the seasoning was great and that it did best slightly warmed. You can wet it a bit to help it bend!

Redmond Clay Facial Mud ($9.99) I love this container for mud, because I’m not a big fan of finger dipping into jars, although I never use a spatula either (I’m so lazy). This facial mud is great for a nice cleanse and drawing out impurities.

The Wonder Seed Nurturing Hemp Hand Cream – Water Lotus ($12.95) This hand cream features hemp seed oil to relieve dry skin – it’s a giant source of essential fatty acids! It also uses grape seed oil to help protect against environmental damage. Lightly scented with essential oils!

Sunfood Raw Organic Superfood Smoothie Mix ($6) Made with sprouted brown rice protein and chia powder for highly absorbable protein plus lucuma, vanilla, and banana, and cacao, maqui, açai, camu camu and goji berry powders for fiber, flavor, and antioxidants. This company very clearly puts the ingredients for this one on the front!

Sunfood Raw Organic Superfood Vanilla Rice Protein Powder ($1.50) This provides a complete amino acid sprouted brown rice protein powder. Both of these products contain lucuma, which is a Peruvian fruit used as a natural sweetener!

Righteously Raw Dark 83% Cacao Pure Dark Cacao Bite ($0.79) Yum! I loved this totally organic bar.

Two Moms in the Raw Charming Cherry Chocolate Nut Bar x2 ($6) I thought this new flavor was absolutely delicious – it combines cherries, a bit of chocolate in the form of cacao nibs, chia and hemp seeds, sprouted almonds, walnuts, and pecans, and sweetened with coconut nectar. It would have been better dunked in chocolate but… it’ is supposed to be healthy.

Juvo Vanilla Chai Organic Raw Meal ($6) This meal-replacement mix is formulated from 55 different raw greens and whole foods to provide phytonutrients, dietary fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins & minerals, all drawn from the entire rainbow of colors and flavored vanilla chai! This had a boatload of fiber along with energy-sustaining carbs and protein.

Ello Raw Cinnamon Sugar Donut Dessert Bites ($4.99) I truly do not understand how these actually tasted like donuts. The texture is not similar at all but they look like donut holes.  They contain only organic/raw cashews, walnuts, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coconut palm (and the sugar is only on the outside). They were nice and nutmeggy – and a fresh nutmeg taste at that.

Repeat from the October box, acknowledged on the card, and I was happy to see them again!

Sunfood Superfoods Agave Nectar ($1) Organic non-GMO raw agave syrup.rawbox december 2015 IMG_2687

NaturalZing Pitted Peruvian Black Dried Olives ($13.95)  Botija olives from Peru dried at low temperatures and cured.  These are hand-picked and I was astonished at how many there were! Canned olives are basically cooked so these are amazing for a raw food diet.

Oh hello wraps, nice to see you again.

Sky Island Organics Crackers Alive in Cranberry Maple Pecan ($7.50) The ingredients for these are: sprouted sunflower seeds, sprouted cashews, sprouted pecans, cranberries, spinach, maple syrup,  lemon juice, celtic sea salt. I was prepared not to like them – but they tasted just like a cracker version of kale chips! Yumm!

This was another great box from RawBox – it’s one of the best healthy food boxes out there! There was around $80 in items in this box (about double the box price) and they were all clearly carefully selected (and you can read the giant information card for even more information about each item). If you’re making a conscious change in your health for next year, this would be a great subscription to test out. The only thing that has really been missing from this box for me is attention to fermented foods, which I’m hoping to see more of this next year – I’m betting that Raw Box has something up their sleeve!
