Barkbox for December featured holiday treats for your dog and came in an extra big box! Barkbox is a monthly subscription box just for dogs. Each box has 4-6 dog products and are customized to the size of your pup, plus it has a cute theme. We get the small dog Barkbox for Lindy, our miniature schnauzer.  You can save $10 on your Barkbox subscription with promo code MS10X1213.

barkbox december 2015 info
The information card formerly gave brief details and values on each item, plus reorder codes. It now shows only a featured product. One thing I noticed this month – not all featured products were the same even though other boxes contained the same products.  You have to get all the information off the app.

barkbox december 2015 review

Everything in this month’s box! When I received last month’s box I updated Lindy’s profile to note that she likes plush toys. My mother-in-law took the too big chewing toy home with her and Barkbox gave me a $5 and free shipping credit to Barkshop, which I used to buy some pumpkin flavored snacks.

barkbox december 2015 heart treats Le Petit Treat Hooray for the Holidays Cookies ($6) Mmmmm bacon gingerbread. I cannot even wrap my head around what these might taste like.  I love that this is a special holiday flavor, and of course that it’s wheat/gluten free (good for dogs!) and made in the US.

barkbox december 2015 snacks Curly Chews 100% Lamb Ear ($4) I am not too big on this only because it’s so plain. Lindy prefers stuff like tracheas but I am sure she will dutifully carry this around, bury it, and whine at it for a while.

Seldovia Wild Salmon Jerky ($7) These are terribly smelly, which means they’re delicious. Lindy loves them but I make Tom (or the baby, who doesn’t seem to mind) treat her with them.

barkbox december 2015 toys

Aussie Naturals Cooper’s Cozy Flannel Shirt Dog Toy ($9) This has some sort of plastic inside that sounds like a plastic bottle (but smaller) so it makes that great cracking sound! This is such a cute toy!

Harry Barker Red Leopard Slipper ($14) realistically would anyone pay $14 for this? No. It’s cute and has a squeaker and the bottom side is sherpa.

barkbox december 2015 treat tinTreat Tin ($4) I was totally delighted to see this treat tin. My husband is entirely too lazy to use it but I think it’s cute and I totally will! I hate having all the bags of dried out treats around.  I love the porthole, the little BarkBox caricature, everything. I’ve never seen a treat box in a subscription before – only a hip bag – so I thought this was just great

Overall the value is really steady – typically around the month to month cost of the box, but you do save a lot more with a long term subscription (as always, I’m on the annual plan!). There were $44 of items in the box this month and my favorite item was the tin! We love this subscription but inflating the prices of the items doesn’t mean the value is increasing. As long as I see 2 toys (or one giant one), 2 main treats, one animal parts treat, I think I’m good. The tin was really a bonus!
