This is the October Gluten-Free box.

urthbox october 2015 review

The contents of the box. This box showed up randomly and we think it’s the small box based on the number of snacks. They have a variety of sizes and they all have different monthly costs, with a steep price reduction for longer subscriptions. This box is $29.99 per month, down to $19.99 per month on a 6 month plan.

Cofresh Caramel Peanuts: Cofresh is the UK’s #1 Indian snacks brand. I did not know that. These are peanuts coated in caramel and sesame seeds.

Nourish Snacks‘ PB Jammin’: Just Virginia peanuts and triple berry medley – which means strawberries and blueberrry infused cranberries. Nourish used to be a weekly snack subscription but now it’s more like buy what you want and have it automatically shipped monthly.

Raw Rev Glo Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt Bar: This popped up in 3 or 4 different boxes over the past week. They really want you to know about this bar! It’s a high protein, high fiber whey bar. It’s pretty good.

Cocomels!: I couldn’t believe that an entire bag of Cocomels was in this box. They’re organic vegan coconut milk caramels and totally delicious!

JoJo’s Chocolate Bark: JoJo’s chocolate bark is an antioxidant-packed dark chocolate with raw almonds & pistachios, cranberries, and protein! It’s yummy and supposed to help you kick cravings for sweets and snacks. By eating chocolate! Obviously!

You Love Veggies Spiced Beet Root Veggie Leather: These are amazing! I’m totally going to buy them again. They fill my sweet/candy needs without being too sweet and are p acked with organic antioxidants and flavor, and it’s 50 calories for the whole bag.

Jackson’s Honest Potato Chips – Purple Heirloom: I’d already sampled this brand in the past week and wasn’t upset to see it again. These were crisp and really highlighted the varietal differences of the purple potato. Ate every one of them.

Crunchmaster Sea Salt Multi-Grain Crackers: These were a casualty of the drink (below) but since this was the gluten-free box, no big – just squash them some more and use them as gluten-free breading.

Movit Energy Gummies: With Guarana, CoQ10, Folic Acid, Protein, and of course Sugar! 60 calories in the bag though, not terrible!

Maté Bros Yerba Maté Natural Energy Brew: I haven’t tried this yet – it has an incredible amount of caffeine – I think it was 100mg for the can. Here’s the description.

Yerba maté is made from the naturally caffeinated and nourishing leaves of the South American rainforest holly tree. The infusion is prepared by steeping dry leaves (and twigs) of the mate plant in hot water rather than in boiling water. The flavor of brewed maté resembles an infusion of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and nutrients and is reminiscent of some varieties of green tea.

Sarah’s Savory Snacks Coconut Currant Curry: My favorite snack and the most incredible granola in the world. A blend of cashews, peanuts, sunflower seeds, coconut chips, flax seeds, honey, sesame seeds, and currants roasted with curry spices. So good! I want to try all the flavors and next time I visit York PA (a few hours from me, if that), I’m going to knock down the door of this company! I am really excited about this new savory granola brand!

This was a really great box. I’m still waiting for confirmation but again, I think it’s the small $29.99/month box, but the price drops by $10 a month on a longer subscription. We formerly had a lot of complaints about renewals with this subscription from customers using vouchers, but I haven’t seen any complaints in a really long time, so I’m comfortable recommending them – and they really send out great snacks!
