SprezzaBox is a men’s accessories subscription. Every month you’ll receive several high quality accessories and a grooming item, all for $28 per month. Items are chosen on the basis of the season and current trends – it’s a curated mix of accessories that ensure you will always look dapper. Selections balance wearables and grooming or accessories, and the clothing items tend to complement each other and are wearable within a single, sharply-coordinated ensemble.
This box is the Movember Box. Usually, SprezzaBox calls boxes by a name that represents NYC instead of the month. The naming convention conveys the overall style of SprezzaBox — sharp and cleverly sophisticated. This month breaks from the tradition to celebrate the month dedicated to men’s health issues.
Basic information card with details of all the items. A pretty good haul for a $28 box. The box features a sock, tie, and pocket-square combo that goes well together in a single outfit. Although it cuts the surprise element down a little, it is really nice to essentially get an outfit refresh every month instead of adding random pieces to your collection hoping it comes together somewhere down the line (I’m not trendy enough for the mismatched-is-matched style philosophy). Also included were a Movember tie clip and a lifestyle item.
The classic SprezzaBox ensemble: tie, pocket square, socks, grooming item, and sweet accent accessory. The grooming item this month was replaced with a set of whiskey stones.
Dapper Whiskey Stones ($16): This set of four stones lets you chill a drink without diluting it. They are especially useful for chilling whiskey, a potable that is best either straight or with a very measured and controlled amount of water. Smooth, washable, and reusable, they are ready for use after a few hours in the freezer.
Sprezza Socks ($12): Sprezza has begun branding their own socks. The quality and fit is commensurate to the socks previously provided.
Bedford & Broome Pocket Square ($18): This square is very versatile. The black and white matches a formal black suit, but the flower pattern softens the visual impact enough to make it work with earthier tones, as well.
Prepared for the pocket, the pattern is quite lovely.
Sprezza Necktie ($30): The pattern and texture of this tie reminds me of an old sofa. It is a little scratchy, but it’s great if you want to add a dose of texture to your ensemble.
Woodchuck USA Stache Tie Bar ($44.99): The woodgrain patina is pretty slick looking, and mustaches (as a design element, at least) are all the rage. It isn’t a perfect complement to this particular tie, but it is sure to get compliments when paired with any non-brown tie.
This is not a simple paperclip — the tie clip has a durable and stable clip mechanism.
I was a little bummed that SprezzaBox didn’t come up with a NYC-themed name that would cover the same territory as Movember — I’m a stickler for consistency. The contents also did not combine into a single outfit as easily as they sometimes do. I did really like the individual items, and it was cool to have the whiskey stones instead of a grooming product for one month.
