An information card detailing all the items is in the box.  Awesome Pack curated this box for our family, which includes mom, dad, a 6 year old girl, a 4 year old boy, a 1 year old baby, and a dog.  We always sing the EVERYTHING IS AWESOME song when this box comes!

The Awesomely Awesome Activity Book!

awesome pack october 2015 IMG_0084

My daughter is obsessed with this activity book. Remember those magazines with all the puzzles and games? It’s like that, plus activities and other stuff. She completes every activity. She wasn’t pleased with the date square bars but wanted to make the banana cookies.

All the items in the Awesome October Box! awesome pack october 2015 IMG_0086

All For Paws Flatty Toy:  We always include something for our little dog in our Awesome Pack, and this is a good selection for her. It’s tough enough for a small dog and has a squeaker and plush exterior.  I like that he lays flat, so I’m less likely to trip over him.

Justice League Oodles of Doodles League:  A super-fun super hero coloring book for our little dude, featuring DC Comics’ best known heroes.  This pack has a big velvet board with sparkles (10″ x 14″ or so), and several other sheets to color, including a second velvet board, cards, a “window wonder” and a “Doodle stacker”.   And yes, Classic Batman, it looks like they included a grey marker just for you…

Crayola Xtreme Coloring Funny Folds:  These are really cool.  The concept is exactly like the MAD Magazine back covers, the larger image folding along specific lines to create a different, smaller image.

The main difference is that YOU get to color these crazy images (symmetry in coloring is recommended).

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sticker Party Pack:  This set of eight identical sticker sheets captures the main characters from the TMNT cartoon currently running on nickelodeon.  Leo, Mikey, Donny, and Raph appear with April, Splinter, and Shredder, the turtles weapons, etc.  It’s called a party pack because it is perfect for doling out as party favors (or in any other small group setting, like team meetings at the office).

Franklin and Friends Plush Franklin Turtle:  The lead character from the popular Canadian children’s series, in his trademark red cap and scarf.  His belly has some beans in it for heft.  We were at first confused by the labelling — Franklin in known as Benjamin in the French series.

Mega Bloks SpongeBob SquarePants Patrick Wacky Pack:  SpongeBob’s starfish pal is featured in this forty-four piece set.  Our daughter likes SpongeBob, and our son is really into brick building right now, so they will be fighting over this one.

Patrick comes with his own chair and ice cream cone.

Shopkins Micro Lite Series 1:  Shopkins are bizarre, but undeniably cute.  This series of the little guys and gals is super squishy and has a little LED light in their bottom that activates when squeezed.

We are informed that this little lady is Molly Mops (thanks, Alena!).  She has a green LED light on her underside.  Our daughter will love this; unfortunately, we’ll have to take it away at night so she doesn’t stay up reading!

ORB Factory Sticky Mosaics Magical Melody Music Box:  This little jewelry box has 400 jewel stickers to add as decoration in cold-by-the-numbers fashion.  This style of craft is really great for kids of a wide age range, since even younger kids can recognize the distinct numbers and colors even before they can identify them by name.

This box is definitely for our daughter (who asked about the existence of fairies the other day, after loosing her tooth).  It plays “fairy music” when opened!

Vampires of the Night:  I thought this game was really innovative and fun to play.  It is vampire themed, but it takes pains to not be the least bit scary — even our exceptionally timid four year old was comfortable playing with it.

You play as Leo Longtooth, vampire ward of the vampire children sleeping in the basement of the castle.  You have to clear the board of garlic magnets dropped by the vampire hunter without knocking them into the basement.

awesome pack game

The bat wand repels the like-polarity magnet in the vampire (who looks a bit like a pawn).  You slide him all over the board, trying to push the garlic disks to the edge and avoid the holes in the elevated platform.  The vampire, bat, and garlic all glow in the dark if charged in bright light for 4 or 5 minutes beforehand.

The gameplay is very intuitive, but it is much trickier than it looks — the rate of movement is hard to judge when pushing multiple disks simultaneously.  We had a blast playing this!

Awesome Pack is, well, pretty awesome.  We love that it is tailored to our family, so everyone gets a special toy, game, or craft picked especially for them, and we also get a game for the whole family to play.  It is a great way to make sure you have some new fun activities for your next rainy weekend or family game night!

Brandy, how do you set up the customization options for your family? It seems like y’all get a LOT of extra activities! We got the Vampires of the Night game and we did enjoy it as well! There were several things missing from our box this month, but with a quick email Awesome Pack said they would ship the missing things in our next box and give us something extra for the mistake… how awesome! 🙂 I’m so thankful for the introduction to this box, even our neighbors are excited to see what new game we will play!

this box is for 2 adults + 3 kids + dog and it’s a review box (says right at the top!) so there are definitely some extras in there due to the extra baby + dog. i do fill out my questionnaire but mostly rely on awesome pack to read our review in terms of feedback. a couple times we have asked for a game that is good for just adults or for us with our oldest, that sort of thing. i have been surprised at how well they have been aging the baby’s activities actually. i didn’t expect a box like this to really advance the baby stuff that well but they have been.

we don’t go to the movies or anything (we have a tv….) so i think this is a really great alternative to dropping a huge wad of cash on fleeting entertainment, plus you actually get to do things together.
