sprouting threads little boys box

Sprouting Threads is a subscription styling service for kids about ages 2 to 8 – just like Stitch Fix, except for kids!  You set your kid’s profile online (sizing, etc), and the clothes arrive for your child to try on.  Sprouting Threads generates a detailed style profile for your child based on images of clothing that you can say you love, like, or don’t like. When you receive your box, keep what you want and return the rest.  There is a $20 styling fee that can be credited toward a purchase of two or more new items. It’s like Stitch Fix for kids!  This box is for our 1 year old son. He doesn’t have a style yet, but has a giant (off the charts even for a 3 year old) head and is pretty big – he wears a 2T already. We gave Sprouting Threads the info when we signed up and filled out our child’s style and size profile.

We love the way everything comes packaged in this subscription!

Everything is folded (and matched, if you need help with outfits).

.. The items in this box are all higher-end boutique brands. You can choose to get half reThreads (gently worn clothing). We got 5 outfits to try on.

Vierra Rose Colorblock Sweater ($44)  I love the colorblock style on this sweater.  Unfortunately this wouldn’t fit over his head. It happens. I buy stuff myself that won’t work. It’s really so much larger than you might imagine (about the size of an average 5 year old’s head!).

Kitestrings Cords ($46) What a cute pair of cords with a nice adjustable waist. We love how the clothes come pre-matched. It makes things so much easier for us. Even if we won’t keep an item (like the sweater), it gives me a better idea what to match it with. I honestly recommend snapping a photo of the box when you open it or laying things out like we do for the review photo so you can remember what goes with what.

Andy & Evan Striped Polo ($30) This is just so cute! I love the angled pocket and the chambray color! He looked so handsome in it. This is definitely perfect for some holiday photos.

Vierra Rose Suspender Jeans ($52) I loved everything about these jeans. I had never heard of this brand before receiving this box (there’s a lot to be said about boutique brand discovery!). They have angled knees and built in suspenders – perfect for a busy baby!

I love how you can dress these up or down!IMG_1409 IMG_1412

Plus they totally prevented them from falling down. These were just totally awesome!

Tooby Doo Button Down ($28) This is a cute little chambray shirt and definitely stylish! I would also lay claim on this for holiday photos but I already have the shirt from above!

Tooby Jeans ($52) They came matched with pre-distressed designer jeans. It seems silly but I love it when kids jeans have the same styling adults do. They look really bland to me without it!

I’m too cute for my pants right now!

Wes & Willy Moose Pullover ($36) I thought this was a really fun design, and we were looking for some versatile outwear options. I prefer sweatshirts that don’t zip because they are much easier to manage on little ones!

Wes & Willy Jogger Pants ($36) These were great, easy on and off pants, and super comfortable. I loved the color and the feel of the fabric on these!

Appaman TNT Tee ($28) I’m not sure of all the writing on the shirt, but I recognized this trendy brand when I pulled it out of the box. The shirt is super soft and long-sleeved.

Tea Collection Cargo Pants ($45) I loved the reinforced knees on these pants! I’m definitely a fan of Tea Collection style and it seems like a couple Tea pieces have come in every Sprouting Threads box I’ve received, which is great.

Sprouting Threads has an easy returns process and also offers the reThread service, so you can recycle your gently-worn clothes and receive some credit on future orders, and I am really looking forward to trying out the ReThreads. I don’t typically shop in consignment stores because of the huge amount of time it takes, but if someone figures that out for me, fine by me! If you want to return anything you just send in the bag with the stuff you don’t want and you’re all set. For my baby’s box pretty much all the shirts besides the one sweater fit great, but some of the pants were too long, which is how most of his pants are now that we buy, too. I wasn’t surprised at all because he’s still a baby, and large babies can be extremely difficult to fit. I did send Sprouting Threads some feedback on getting more jogger style pants for the under-two crowd and I am expecting to see some in our next box.

Overall I loved the style of absolutely everything and that while everything was paired, it was very mixable and matchable, which is perfect because my husband is generally the one that puts the clothes on the kids (to often hilarious results!). This isn’t a bargain subscription in terms of cheap clothes, but it’s definitely a bargain on my time.  It is basically as awesome as Stitch Fix for women, except for kids!
