Powered Geek Box Subscription Review + Coupon – September 2015

Powered Geek Box is a monthly subscription with geek, gamer, and pop culture collectibles and gear.   Get an epic box every month with a “Christmas morning, gift opening experience,” 12 times a year!  You can choose the premium box (6-9 items) or the deluxe box (4-6 items) and both boxes include a shirt in your opening experience.

FYI I have heard from readers that you really should go for the premium box (which this box is vs the deluxe box). Powered Geek Box features Funko Vinyl Figures in most of their boxes. Funko items include Funko Pop!, Mystery Minis, and Dorbz! There were no funkos in this month’s box.

Twisted Lip Pops Lollipops ($2) There’s some sort of edible treat in each box. I guess you suck on this and you have a cartoon smile with a lip ring.

Nintendo Dog Tags ($8.09) I’m going to be straight up and mention that I think that this is the only NES controller I’ve ever used.

Vinyl Records Inc. Coaster ($3?)  This is a single coaster.  I’m not too sure that I associate geekery with vinyl records too much.

Nintendo Super Mario Bros. 1 Up Mushroom Bifold Wallet ($14.99) 1 UP by keeping your cash together in the mushroom wallet.

Bioworld Superman Men’s Crew Socks (~$8.65) These are great for hiding your alter-ego underneath your clothes.

Assassin’s Creed Unity T-Shirt ($15) I don’t know anything about this game but I’m sure Tom will wear the shirt.

For a premium box, this installment felt pretty light. There was about $52 in value but wasn’t my favorite – it felt a bit underwhelming for a premium box. This month was extremely masculine but that’s likely their primary market. I do love that a shirt comes in every box, but I wish they could commit to a Funko in each box too.
