My Texas Market is a monthly subscription box featuring small batch and artisan made goods – including beauty products, food items, home goods, unique artisan products, and more – all from Texas! You can enjoy awesome artisan goodies from farmers’ markets and local Texas shops without even leaving your home – Texas comes straight to you.
I love the look and style of this box – it’s also great for a gift.
Everything in the October box!
The October theme is Tailgates and Touchdowns! FYI, this box donates 10% of its profits to the Houston Food Bank.
The information card had the details on each item, plus a “Shop Outside the Box” feature . This is a cute idea and perfect for this kind of regional box, when you’re specifically hunting for producers from the area.
I had to stop and take a photo of all the neatly wrapped items – super fun to open. Ok, time to tailgate!
Cornucopia Popcorn Smoky & Sweet BBQ ($5.50) This was smoky, sweet, and barbecuey! It was a great unusual and local treat and really fresh too. The card says best if consumed within two months, but we will devour it long before that! A really great taste of Texas.
LaLavanderia Aches + Pains Salt Soak ($11) The box smelled absolutely wonderful when I opened it, which I largely attribute to this peppermint and lavender soak – which also has menthol crystals! Use the salt soak first to relax those sore muscles…
LaLavanderia Pain Salve ($2) And then use this natural salve (it’s sort of like IcyHot) to rub into the remaining spots that need soothing. This also smell delicious, with camphor and menthol, plus arnica for natural relaxing.
M.B. Vintage Essentials Beer Soap ($6) I was surprised because this smells mostly like lemon. My husband will love this one – he needs the softening that the beer hops provide, and he’ll totally get a kick out of a beer-based bar (and love that it doubles as a shampoo bar!).
Sweet Aspen Jewels Football Season Keychain ($16) I can think of 20 different ways to end the sentence “There isn’t anything more Texas than [X],” and one of them is football! This was custom designed for My Texas Market, and of course doubles as a beer opener!
Medicine Woman Herbs Healthy Spice Blends Carnivore Grill Rub ($9) I loved that this rub had an unusual ingredient in it that I typically associated with, well, Texas (and other places but it grows really well there) – juniper berry! The rub is made of rosemary, marjoram, thyme, oregano, juniper berry, nutmeg, garlic, onion, black pepper, bay leaf, plus all the herbs are organically grown! You can use it as a rub or marinade.
Stellar Gourmet Lavender Candied Jalapeños ($5) Sweet, spicy, and delicious! I’ve never had anything like these. They were softer than I thought they’d be, but they seem perfect for my typical cream cheese and crackers that I apply nearly all things like this to – amusingly enough, the box curators think the exact same way. Must be why I love this box so much, they are after my heart! (Seriously y’all we buy cream cheese in warehouse packs).
This box does such a great job of showcasing local producers and local items that show off the region’s best styles and produce. It seriously delights me every time I open it. Although there have been a few items that are specifically for women (like earrings), this is one of the boxes that my husband and I enjoy really together, making it a great box for couples or for the holidays. I’m really excited to see what they do for November & December! Every box from My Texas Market has been absolutely perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing.
