Konenkii is a quarterly subscription box for women designed to ease, educate, and empower modern women through the aging process – with grace and a bit of humor.
I knew I would like this box when I opened it! It saw both “life has a learning curve” and “chillax!”
I believe I have achieved both grace and humor already!
The information sheet was attached to the lid. Usually I like to be able to get it right up in my face but the print is plenty big so I could read all of it. I learned this year that this was the year I started easing into middle age. Reading glasses are coming my way soon!
Everything in the box. It was all beautifully packaged and fun to open!
Konenkii’s Fearless Recipes: This was a set of (very large – thank you!) seasonal drink recipes. The front of each card has a great literary quote that goes along with each drink.
And the backs contained 7 perfect for fall boozy recipes that I can’t wait to try! Seriously! Every one of them looks delicious. Now I know what I’m doing with that danged bottle of sparkling apple juice that’s been in my fridge for a year! Konenkii has given it purpose.
Rubber Ducky
Credit Card Holder
These weren’t on the information card, but the ducky is obviously for bathtime fun, and the back of the pouch has an adhesive – use it to hold a credit card or rewards card on the back of your phone, in your car, planner, etc!
Honest Hazel Eye Gels: I love eye gels and I don’t think I’ve used any made of cactus collagen, or with arbutin. I looked it up and arbutin is a natural skin-lightener and is rated “best” at Paula’s Choice. I’m excited to try these out!
Cactus Collagen increases skin elasticity, improves circulation and reduces puffiness. Soothing Aloe Vera, Vitamin C and Vitamin E smooths fine lines and wrinkles. Arbutin combats dark circles and hyper-pigmentation.
The Rainy Apple Shoppe Pumpkin Spice Soap: This soap was made exclusively for this subscription and it is so good! It uses real fig powder for an exfoliant which sweetens it up and is scented with orange and pumpkin and cinnamon clove!
Fastachi Chocolate Nut Mix: This is good. Like really really good. The nuts are all extremely high quality and there is no filler in this mix! It’s made of almonds, cranberries, sesame coated peanuts, chocolate, pistachios, raisins, hazelnuts, and a touch of salt to set off the flavor. It was so good. This is one of my favorite snacks ever in a box.
5 oz Round Flask: What lady comfortable in her own skin wouldn’t be delighted with a great little flask to take a nip on the go? Perfect for winter warmups!
Silicone Wine Cups: I honestly can’t think of a better idea. This is brilliant. Fold and pack in your purse for moderation on the go!
Cleaning instructions came with both the flask and the silicone cups and the instruction to chillax! Got it! Would one say that it would be appropriate to carefully pack bottles of wine in one’s suitcase and these cups? I think one of a certain age would say yes.
This wasn’t on the card – but the two wine cups were held together with a stretchy hairband! This was a fun bonus!
I See You Made an Effort: Compliments, Indignities, and Survival Stories from the Edge of 50 by Annabelle Gurwitch: I’m not quite near 50, but I found this book touching and hilarious. I’m passing this one along to my aunt – she will adore it!
a wickedly funny book of essays about the indignities faced by femmes d’un certain âge. Whether she is falling in lust at the Genius Bar, coping with her best friend’s assisted suicide, or navigating the extensive—and treacherously expensive—anti-aging offerings at the beauty counter, Gurwitch confronts middle age with candor, wit, and a healthy dose of self-deprecation. Scorchingly honest, surreally and riotously funny, I See You Made an Effort is the ultimate coming-of-middle-age story and according to Bill Maher, “it should be required reading for anyone between the ages of 40 and death. Scratch that- even after death, it’s a must read.”
This was an amazing box! I loved every bit of it. It was funny, sweet, had excellent top-notch items, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for yourself (even if you’re not quite the target demo if you’re a bit tired of the younger themed boxes) or for a friend or loved one about 35-65. This box felt like an earthy mentor giving me a gift with the message: these items will help ease your passage into this new phase of life.
