brick loot september 2015 box

Brick Loot is a monthly subscription box filled with LEGO-compatible items, bricks, and brick building accessories for LEGO fans. Brick Loot box is filled with 4-8 items that were hand picked by Brick specialists who scour the world for the newest and coolest products for you to collect.  This box, like the last, is build-heavy, featuring mostly Brick Loot exclusive mini-builds (and some cool other stuff, too).

Everything in the September 2015 Brick Loot box.

brick loot september 2015 IMG_0171Rōblox Voucher – free Top Hat Pack and 300 ROBUX. I think this might be a little Minecraft-esque?  I’d put the kids on it but I love that Minecraft is FREE!  300 ROBUX seems like quite a bit, but I have no idea what the pricing is per game or session.  The top hat is a Brick Loot exclusive in-game avatar accessory.

Brick Loot Sticker:  I’m thinking this might be the new every-box collectible item.

United Bricks Brick Loot Exclusive Master Builder Minifigure:  Emmet wishes he was this guy!  Brick Loot constructed (heh) this custom figure, so he is a one-of-a-kind that only subscribers have.

Liteup Blocks USB Down Light ($2.50):  This third-party piece is a great, versatile lite-up.   I love the ultra-thin and long cord that allows building the block into projects without having to specially accommodate the lighting unit’s power supply.

Under Construction: An exclusive build for Brick Loot by BrickBuildersPro.  This set uses real LEGOs, so you can intermix with your own sets as you please.

After the third time building it and busting it Brandy gave up. It really was under construction. These were real LEGO bricks, but the design didn’t weave in the bricks really well.

Brick Loot Mini Forklift:  a fun little project perfect for piloting by the master builder.

Brick Loot Mini Bulldozer:  Another fun little cart for your building site.

Brick Loot Mini Crane:  I had an issue with this ambitious little number.  The wheels were a little big and forced the axel piece to separate from the chassis.  The design clearly contemplates the big wheels, though, so I’ll have to revisit with fresh eyes.

Is anyone else expecting these things to form a giant battle robot?

This box is great for young (and older) LEGO fans.  The builds are pretty simple and may not long hold the interest of long-time builders, but the multiple projects will provide lots of fun for younger builders (I’d say 5-12 years is the target audience).  I really liked that nearly everything was a building item, not just LEGO-themed — subscribers can build the projects and then add all the pieces to their existing stock of LEGOs.  Of the LEGO-related boxes we review, this one is the one most closely focused on actual building.  This box is primarily all aftermarket and compatible sets, but this month’s exclusive Under Construction build was made of LEGOs. We wished we had been a little more successful with the two items we had trouble with, though.
