anime bento august 2015 box

Anime Bento is a monthly subscription box for true anime fans! With this subscription you’ll receive Japanese toys, collectibles, and other swag from your favorite anime shows delivered straight to your door every month. Anime Bento is committed to sending only authentic products, too. Moe Chan, depicted on the cover of the box and on the information card below, is Anime Bento’s official mascot.

anime bento august 2015 IMG_9223 Moe Chan is a master chef and bento artist. You wouldn’t know it by looking at her saucy get-up, but she’s a sweet 16.

She enjoys watching comedic anime and is often caught doodling when she should be working.  Her dream is to one day open a great restaurant where food and art can be equally appreciated.  She attends the local high school and is popular with her class mates.  Moe has very close friends that she works with and always makes sure that they always have a good lunch to eat.  When she is not working at a maid cafe in Akihabara or going to school, she helps run the Social media sites for Anime Bento.

Seraph of the End Posters: There were two posters in this box and they came well protected in an outer cardboard box. This is from the Chara-pos Collection and from what I can tell they release collectible posters from a variety of franchises. Seraph of the End is a dark fantasy manga series and the anime of this series debuted only this year (and is returning this month!). The manga is published on Shonen Jump, which my friend Sara (who is a mega manga fan) told me all about earlier this year (popular manga the same day as Japan!). She gave me the back story on several of these items!

Madoka Magica Blind Box: This figure is one of the witches from this series, and I believe her name is Homulily, but I’m not entirely sure! This series follows a group of magical girls that were introduced to their powers in middle school and battle evil witches like Homulily. This is a nice collector’s vinyl with a ton of detail. You can even see the ruffles from under her dress!

Black Rock Shooter Keychain: Black Rock Shooter is a mysterious black haired girl who possesses a burning blue eye and wears a string bikini under a long black coat. This is a pretty stylized version of her and she has blue hair instead of a blue eye!

Bleach Patch – Kon: Bleach is a hyper popular anime. This is Kon, who is an artificial soul that can inhabit things and people. He mostly takes the form of a stuffed lion and is an earthy sort of fellow.

Ramune: Ramune is a Japanese tart soda similar to lemonade.  These candies have the texture of Smarties, and they approximate lemonade in the same way Smarties approximate fruit.  Very sweet and a bit sour.

Glico Hot Chili Salad Pretz: This may be my new favorite Pretz flavor! They’re quite spicy and taste like all the seasonings on a hot thai larb – basil, chili, etc. With a sense that it might actually be chicken larb but no chicken. This flavor is brand new to the US!

This is a really cool box for anime fans. I appreciated the variety of selections – poster, vinyl figure, keychain, and patch – plus there were two great Japanese snack/candy selections! The anime properties represented were also a nice mix of current anime series and old favorites! FYI – boxes may sometimes include t-shirts and plushies!

Did I get everything right? Is the witch’s name Homulily?

I know the characters name before she changes is Homura. According to wiki, your name is correct for the witch form. Good job. 🙂

That’s actually a rather large spoiler for anyone who hasn’t watched the series :/
