SprezzaBox September 2015 Men’s Subscription Box Review + Coupon

SprezzaBox is a men’s accessories subscription. Every month you’ll receive several high quality accessories and a grooming item, all for $28 per month.  Items are chosen on the basis of the season and current trends – it’s a curated mix of accessories that ensure you will always look dapper.  Selections balance wearables and grooming or accessories, and the clothing items tend to complement each other and are wearable within a single, sharply-coordinated ensemble.

This box is the Bleecker Box.  SprezzaBox calls boxes by a name that represents NYC instead of the month.  The naming convention conveys the overall style of SprezzaBox — sharp and cleverly sophisticated.  Bleecker street runs across Manhattan and is home to Greenwich Village’s nightclub district.

Basic information card with details of all the items.  A pretty good haul for a $28 box.  Once again, the box features a sock-and-pocket-square combo that goes well together in a single outfit, though the color match was not as precise this month as it has been previously.  Although it cuts the surprise element down a little, it is really nice to essentially get an outfit refresh every month instead of adding random pieces to your collection hoping it comes together somewhere down the line (I’m not trendy enough for the mismatched-is-matched style philosophy).

The classic SprezzaBox ensemble:  tie, pocket square, socks, grooming item, and sweet accent accessory.  The blue, white, gray, and silver of the items is not exactly a match, but close enough that they make for a pretty sharp ensemble when worn together and all tucked in their proper spot.

Sprezza Necktie ($30) Collaboration with Weekend Casual.  This is the first time I’ve seen a Sprezza branded item.  The quality is the same as the WC tie from May, so I don’t think the in-house branding is a move to a cheaper product.  I think it’s pretty sharp with the liner and the shift to a single color on the thin end of the tie (the stripes end at the diagonal seam).

Dappered Man Specialty Lapel Flower ($15):  A great finishing touch to an outfit.  This comes in highly versatile white and is small enough to be classy, not silly.

Brickell Men’s Products Lip Balm ($7.50): Brickell makes good stuff.  I’m torn on the peppermint.  It makes for a nice flavor, but it may tingle in an unpleasant way if you are already chapped.

Sprezza Pocket Square ($16). The tag on this one was designed to be clipped off, which makes for a neater square. I appreciated that touch.  The grey and white pairs nicely with the other items in the box, and neutral tones make it suitable for pairing with anything else you have on your tie rack.

Bedford & Broomie Limited Edition Socks ($12):  Is it wrong to say these are adorable?  The dark navy, clay and true white create a bold, contrasting stripe that is strangely warm and soft.

All the items are similar enough in color scheme to mesh nicely, particularly with a textured navy suit adding some distance between them.

The tie and pin together.  Keep in mind that that is a female mannequin (womannequin?), so the pieces appear slightly bigger on it than they would on a man.

I thought this month was great — the color scheme on the pieces was even more closely coordinated than it has been in the last several boxes.  The accessory pieces in this box were also neutral in color, making them very versatile.
