Power Up Box August 2015 Geek Box Subscription Review + Coupon

Power Up Box is one of my favorite geeky gamer pop culture franchise fan boxes and August’s was awesome! Power Up Box is a monthly subscription with geek, gamer, and pop culture collectibles and gear.   Get an epic box every month with a “Christmas morning, gift opening experience,” 12 times a year!  You can choose the premium box (6-9 items) or the deluxe box (4-6 items) and both boxes include a shirt in your opening experience. FYI I have heard from readers that you really should go for the premium box (which this box is). Power Up Box features Funko Vinyl Figures in most of their boxes, which is exciting for us, because we have one huge 4 year old fan. Funko items include Funko Pop!, Mystery Minis, and Dorbz!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Funko Mystery Minis Vinyl Figure ($7) TMNT is totally my husband’s thing and I know he’ll be really happy about this one – Leonardo is his favorite Turtle!

Futurama Funko POP! Vinyl Figure – Bender ($11.80) Hahahahha I love Bender. The Amazon description says: “Hey sexy mama, wanna kill all humans?” He gambles, smokes cigars, consorts with hookerbots, and now he’s a Pop! Vinyl Figure! And that’s pretty perfect. I feel that this particular Funko is going to make it on my desk very soon!

The other Funkos in the series! I’m not sure what sort of variations there were, but the Mystery Minis definitely had variations.

Transformers Glowing Bot Shirt ($15) I couldn’t find this one online, and I always give geek box shirts a $15 value unless I find them online, but I did find similar Transformers Autobots shirts for around $20. But who cares, because it’s a totally awesome shirt! I know my husband is totally psyched about this – Transformers is one of his absolute faves. Sometimes I wear them around the house but the men’s style ones he snags. Just a great design.

I think I mentioned last month – and it’s something we love and appreciate – everything in all the Power Up Boxes is officially licensed, as are these items! They’re both great toons/animation themed items. I’m still trying to figure out what we’re doing with our patch collection – our home is becoming an homage to pop culture, which is pretty awesome!

Transformers Plastic Head Container with Candy ($1.29 when you buy 24 of them!) This is such a fun item for Transformers fans! I didn’t eat the candy but I know my kids will be really into it. We finally watched the latest movie about a month ago and OMG nobody told me how long it was. We were all going to die watching it that long but powered through. It was awesome. but LONG!

Sonic Stress Ball ($6.82) Wellll it’s a stress ball! Squishy and fun and Sonic.

I have found that most of the Power Up boxes have two sort of themes going on. Here it was Transformers + Animation! There’s no card but they’ve been pretty consistent about the mini-themes. I enjoy that because if you’re not into one thing, you’re probably into the other, but my entire family and I have really gobbled this box up every month. We love it.
