Be Our Guest Box Disney-Themed Subscription Box Review – August 2015

Be Our Guest Box is a Disney-themed monthly subscription box!  This box features officially licensed items from Disney Parks, Disney Resorts, Disney Store, and other licensed Disney distributors, as well as exclusive “inspired” items created exclusively for Be Our Guest box. If you cannot get to Disney every month but still need some pixie-dust inspired magic monthly, Be Our Guest will be sending a variety of items including collectibles, seasonal items, special event merchandise, trading pins, vinylmations, mystery packs, plush, candies, snacks, and more!

The box itself was definitely Disney inspired! It doesn’t say Disney anywhere on it, but of course you get the idea. Clever.

We always love thank yous, and this one was sealed with a little Mickey Mouse!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Stickers – 2 blue sheets + 2 green sheets (~$1.75) Cute, and more than enough for my two kids to share!

Disney Parks Disneyland Resort Magnetic Notepad ($6.95) Oh this is perfect for our Disney trip to do list! Although I suspect my kids will steal it and write ridiculous things on it like “Go To Disney World Every Day” and “Buy Me Everything FROZEN!”

Mickey Mouse & Friends Daisy Lollipop & Minnie Candy (50¢) I am pretty sure that this is like piñata filler mix candy. My kids will enjoy it. It’s officially licensed but it’s not Disney Parks candy.

Design-Ware Buzz Lightyear Keychain  & Mickey Mouse Keychain (~$4 each?) These are fun – I have no idea how the kids will split them. They are usually agreeable about these sorts of things and one or the other becomes attached to one and the other just takes the other one. We’ll probably attach these to backpacks for the trip!

Disney Store Small Mickey Mouse Bean Bag Plush ($9.95) Hi Mickey we love you! I admit that my family has a really extensive collection of Mickey and Friends. We always get the holiday ones and we have Mickeys of all sizes. In fact, the kids called the baby “Mickey” before he was born! Each child has their own Mickey plus travel Mickeys. This will be the baby’s. I know this makes me sound crazy, but they really love Mickey. He’s their go-to comfort creature. Each of them has their own character interests (Elmo, etc.) but they all love Mickey. This of course as noted is a Disney Store item!

Disney Store Ice Treat Molds (~$10) These are a fun design and I think we’ll use them to make some yogurt pops this weekend!

It was a bit hard to value this box – based on my experience it has around $37.25 in value, which seems good for a Disney-themed subscription (see our note about the value of Disney-themed boxes specifically – this is perfectly acceptable for a Disney themed box and nobody should expect to receive tons of retail value in this type of box).  All the items were licensed but weren’t specifically found in the Parks & Resorts. I think this was a fun subscription to test out and good for a Disney addict that needs new themed merchandise every month, and especially good for small children. I would actually like to see more “inspired” items like we see in the other fan boxes (specifically the geek boxes) in these types of boxes. I think it would provide more value to the end consumer at the same price to the box and be a bit more exciting. September is sold out for Be Our Guest Box, so I’ll revisit it in the future – perhaps in November!
