elementary box september 2015 box ElementaryBox is a monthly subscription box service for the elementary teacher & classroom. Every box includes teaching resources, fun incentives for studentsand a special gift for the teacher. Our mission is to lighten the load of teachers and give them a well-deserved treat, while boosting student success and a sense of community in the classroom (or homeschool). For planning purposes, ElementaryBox begins shipping around the 22nd of the month for the following month’s box. This way teachers receive the box-of-the-month before that month actually begins, and they have plenty of time to integrate any time-sensitive materials into their lesson plans. Boxes are curated for PreK through 5th grade – choose the grade that you teach!

elementary box september 2015 unboxing

September.  It’s the time of year that you get excited about school supplies and autumn, again. Even though I’ve been retired for 6 years, I just can’t help it, my mind thinks, “what do I need for my classroom and students?”  I got a thrill just opening this box.

The information card listed every item in the box, the retail value, why they were chosen and possible uses, and teaching resources! For the First Grade September 2015 Box, it was beginning of the year read-aloud books.

Retro Pencils (4 packs – $7)

Jumbo Markers Classic Colors (2 packs – $3.25) The colorful pencils – perfect, and markers, who doesn’t love markers?  I have them all over the house and still use them.  BUT, I will admit the one thing I don’t miss from being a teacher was having to write my last name on all my personal items in the classroom.

Steep & Go Cold Infusion Tea Set ($11.50) TheSteep & Go for making fresh cold brewed tea in water bottles was a wonderful touch. Tea at the end of a hectic day can be very soothing and I can’t wait to try each of the 2 flavors. Plus, many classrooms are quite warm and this was a thoughtful teacher gift for teachers who work up a sweat!

Carson Dellosa Language Arts Interactive Notebook Grade One ($9.99)

Carson Dellosa STEM Applying the Standards Book Grade One ($9.99)

The 2 teacher resource books from Carson Dellosa brought back tons of memories.  I used quite a few Carson Dellosa teacher resource books in my time. The Language Arts workbook provided activities about long vowels, sentence structure, nouns, adjectives, story elements, text features and helpful tips for teachers. The STEM book provides activities and plans in all the STEM areas and higher-order thinking – these activities will really keep children engaged.  Both of these are perfect for new and old teachers alike.

I would have used every item in this box if I were still teaching but instead now I get to donate to some lucky teacher in my granddaughter’s school.  This box would make a really great gift for teachers. FYI, because teachers never really stop working, ElementaryBox ships all year round. The June Box is focused on the last days of school, July is for planning, and the August Box is back-to-school!
