Barkbox Dog Subscription Box Review + $10 Coupon – September 2015

September’s Barkbox theme was “Bedtime Story”! Barkbox is a subscription box just for dogs. Each box has 4-6 dog products and are customized to the size of your pup. For about the past year every box has been themed, which I love, and I think we can safely assume that they will all be that way!  We get the small dog Barkbox for Lindy, our miniature schnauzer.  You can save $10 on your Barkbox subscription with promo code MS10X1213.

The box came with a funny card, and of course, custom paper!

I thought this playmat was hilarious. Our dog actually does love baby playmats. We had one for our first two kids that the squeaker area was black from her nosing at it! I highly doubt that I would purchase my dog her own playmat.

Wagatha’s Beddy Bye Biscuits ($2.74) This was one of two items that had that bedtime feel!  They’re organic with soothing green tea and ginger. I thought that was cute! They are made in the US with no wheat, corn, or soy. I wished this had been a full-size box (the card valued at $9 but that’s close to the full-size price!)

Canine Caviar Holistic Dried Sweet Potato ($3.83) YUM! Lindy loves sweet potatoes and these are nice large slices. We can’t get enough of sweet potato treats here.

Simply Fido Frog Prince ($10) This was the other bedtime item and since we totally tuck our dog into bed, I could see us including a bedtime toy. She’s such a sweet puppy!

Hyper Pet Dura Squeaks ($5.49) This is a floating squeaky dog toy and definitely not designed for bedtime! It looks very durable – our dog would never be able to destroy it!

PetSafe Indigo Fresh Floss ($2) Well I guess we all need to brush before bed and having a dog with fresh breath is preferred when they’re nuzzling you.  This is also a grain-free item.

This wasn’t my favorite Barkbox! I didn’t think they really carried through the theme with the items (I sound somewhat ridiculous – I’m talking about a subscription box for dogs) and the value was a pretty sorry $24. Barkbox misrepresented the value of multiple items to make it appear much higher (the value is typically right around the monthly cost. Of course I subscribe on a year long subscription, as I always suggest with dog boxes, to get the best deal! The items at least were high quality – but there could have been more!
