August 2015 Clean Bar Box Soap Subscription Box Review & Coupon

Clean Bar Box is a monthly and bi-monthly soap subscription box that delivers artisan handmade soaps carefully selected to match the scents of the season right to your door. Every monthly or bi-monthly box includes 4 different tantalizing scents free from preservatives, animal products, petroleum derivatives, parabens, and sodium lauryl sulfate. Boxes include full-sized bars averaging ~5 ounces and cute half-sized bars averaging ~2.5 ounces.

Everything is neatly packaged with squiggles! I loved the aroma when you first open it – it made me go “ahhhhhh.”

The August box was the special tropical soap box. Each was chosen for its tropical flavors to end summer with a sudsy bang!

You can choose 2 different subscriptions: four 2.5 ounce bars for $14.99 per month or two 5 ounce bars and two 2.5 ounce bars for $19.99 per month (or bimonthly).  This is the large box.

Mango Soap ($7.50) This was green, which was surprising, because I expected orange for mango. It has a really pleasant aroma, but it doesn’t remind me of mango. I think it’s because the mango is combined with the natural soap smell.

Bay Rum Soap ($7.50) This is described as strong and bold with a sweet and spicy scent. It’s not overpowering and pretty sweet, but it will also be great for a man.

Citrus Basil Soap ($3.25) What an odd combination. I like it! The citrus is nice and crisp and the basil really rounds it out.

Banana Coconut Scrub ($3.25) The scrub in this is sea salt! I love scrubs and cannot wait to try it. The smell is really quite mild on this, but definitely tropical.

I would call this a tropical box in a really subtle spa-way – not over the top Bath & Body Works kind of tropical scents. The scents are good but nothing is overpowering in a way where you would feel overpowered by the scents. I’m particularly excited about the scrub bar – I have never used anything like that and I love scrubs.
