Little Lace Box subscriptions for August are almost sold out! Little Lace Box is now a bi-monthly, instead of a monthly subscription box.
The theme for August is Elizabeth & Mr. Darcy. Here’s the previous information we’ve received
Long before there was Anastasia and Mr. Grey, there was Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy… and the comparisons pretty much stop there. The idea of curating a box based on classic literature has always been interesting to us at LLB. We can go in so many different directions with this. Vintage is an obvious direction, but we can also curate based strictly on the characters from the story: Eliza and Darcy, the crazy Mrs. Bennet or Darcy’s arrogant and snobby aunt, Lady Catherine, just to name a few. We can also curate based on references to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy in other areas of pop culture through the years. Or maybe we should curate based on the love story itself, “Marry the person your heart cries out for. And when you have them – do not doubt them.” A reference from the P.D. James adaptation.
There is always the idea of curating based on the way one feels when they read Pride and Prejudice .
So have we confused you yet? Since there are so many ways to go with this theme, we decided to do something we’ve never done before. We’ve decided to give you clues. Now don’t mistake this for “spoilers” because we hate spoilers. We won’t divulge what will be in the box, but we will give clues as to the direction we are headed with the curation.
Now for the new spoiler clue!
“That caviar is a garnish!” “…despite appearances, I like you, very much…” and it will make you “…completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.”
#1 is from You’ve Got Mail
#2 is from Bridget Jones Diary
Mark Darcy: I don’t think you’re an idiot at all. I mean, there are elements of the ridiculous about you. Your mother’s pretty interesting. And you really are an appallingly bad public speaker. And, um, you tend to let whatever’s in your head come out of your mouth without much consideration of the consequences… But the thing is, um, what I’m trying to say, very inarticulately, is that, um, in fact, perhaps despite appearances, I like you, very much. Just as you are.
Bridget: You once said you liked me just as I am and I just wanted to say likewise. I mean there are stupid things your mum buys you, tonight’s another… classic. You’re haughty, and you always say the wrong thing in every situation and I seriously believe that you should rethink the length of your sideburns. But, you’re a nice man and I like you. If you wanted to pop by some time that might be nice… more than nice.
Mark Darcy: Right, crikey.
#3 is of course from Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice
“You may only call me “Mrs. Darcy”… when you are completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.”

I think some kind of light is a great idea. Perhaps a desk light for letter writing? I also think a journal would be nice idea also
LOl it could be anything! But since we never get anything that lights up besides lip gloss, I’m hoping for a light.
Now that I think about it, it could totally be light up lip gloss too.
I am excited! You’ve Got Mail is a movie that I have watched DOZENS of times. It never gets old for me. Maybe a lighted vanity mirror? Lizzie looks into the mirror, I think you are right about it having something to do with light, and the garnish is in the shape of a circle. http://www.lnt.com/product/vanity-mirrors/821961-190/rucci-m885-10x-magnification-foldable-lighted-mirror-.html
How does it not get old even though it’s all aol? Question for the ages (I don’t disagree with you btw!!)
I decided it might be light up lip gloss.
