Svenska Hallon Död Skallar – Swedish Raspberry and Licorice Skulls.  These need to be eaten all together to get the full experience.  The raspberry half is chewier and sweet, and the licorice side is the “salty” style of licorice enjoyed in Northern Europe.

Special Order: Glico Pocky Yokai Watch Milk Sticks –  This Japanese classic is never out of style.   This variety has a slightly darker cookie than most flavors and is coated with a vanilla milk cream coating. This is a limited edition Pocky (very hard to find) featuring Komasan from ‘Youkai Watch’ He loves ice cream, so this flavor makes sense! This was a pretty awesome item to receive in the box.

Mentos Fresh Cola:  though Mentos are available in abundance, we don’t see the cola flavor much Stateside (nor do they label them with their proper title of “dragees”).  The flavor is a little different than actual cola, and is a little more tart.  I can plow through this package in minutes – it’s like a compulsion.

Prestige Troy Wafer Bar:  A REALLY hard to find Bulgarian wafer bar layered with creamy filling and coated with chocolate. This was a really nice size and much larger than a normal candy bar.

Tunnock’s Milk Chocolate Coated Caramel Wafer Biscuit More than five million of these biscuits made and sold every week. 5 wafer layers, 4 caramel layers, all covered in chocolate. This was a bonus item (repeat from previous box).  Sweet and tasty, the caramel gives the bar a nice bendy resilience when served at a cool temp, making it both crisp and chewy.

Japanese Hi-Chew in Grape, Green Apple, and Strawberry. I’m a Hi-Chew fan, these are like the Japanese version of Starburst. Except totally different. They have a white outer coating, which is very slick, but not hard (so difficult to describe) and the inside is a burst of flavor.

This is a nice variety of candy and snacks from around the world and there’s enough for everyone in our family to share. The snacks are impossible to go out and find the values of individually, but the box is pretty inexpensive at $15 per month, and we like receiving candy that we’ve never seen before (and we have seen a lot of candy), especially the LE Pocky! It would be great to see the value improved a bit more – even if it was just a handful of American candy as a bonus each month to have some contrasting flavors. However, they’ve just changed up their system and now have discounts for longer subscriptions, which is great, so you can try your first box at half off and then subscribe for longer if you love it.
