my geek box july 2015 box
My Geek Box is a monthly subscription of geek goods shipped directly from the UK to your front door.  Each month you’ll get a mystery box filled to the brim with geek gamer and retro gear, including a limited edition t-shirt in your chosen size. Every month we choose a different theme: from zombies, to superheroes, to video games and even your favourite films. It’s not only the theme which changes from month to month, either – each box is unique, filled with a fresh batch of awesomeness.  Because it ships from the UK, shipping costs factor into the overall expense of the box.

YASSSS

my geek box july 2015 review

Everything in the box.

my geek box july 2015 notebook

Breaking Bad Los Pollos Hermanos Notebook ($15.67) Apparently this is the chicken restaurant in Breaking Bad. I don’t know anything about Breaking Bad and after having lived in a condo that exploded because of a meth lab next door (yes, really and no, until the explosion obviously we didn’t know), it’s not a show that I want to get into. I honestly didn’t expect this in a box from the UKt! Yes I know it’s supposed to be a good show but who wants to relive that? Nobody.

my geek box july 2015 hottit coaster

The Hobbit Battle of Five Armies Azog the Defier Coaster ($2?) It’s just one coaster! The extreme amount of rights reservations at the bottom is pretty annoying and detracts from the look of the coaster. We get it Warner Brothers – put your warnings on the back though!
my geek box july 2015 skynet card holder

Terminator 2 Judgment Day Card Holder ($6ish) I found this on a couple of British Empire ebay sites (AUS, IE, etc.). I think it’s great!

It really only holds 2 cards, but if you have any that operate via RFID, it would be a great way to store them. Plus sort of ironic 🙂

I have clearance level 5 now!

my geek box july 2015 davros figurine

BBC Dr. Who Davros Figurine ($19.98) This is… mildly terrifying. This box is hitting up all my “no I don’t watch that” franchises and I know zero about Dr. Who!

Based off the Tenth Doctor’s Adventures in “The Stolen Earth,” this collectible Davros is a metallic resin 4-inch collectible.

This puppy is pretty heavy.

I’m not sure if this is a numbered collectible or what!

my geek box july 2015 transformers mug

Transformers Autobot Shaped Mug ($11.83) Have I mentioned this was a heavy box? It was SUPER DUPER heavy between the figurine and this mug. As my husband said: That. Mug. Is. Awesome.

He’s absolutely thrilled with this! We watched the latest Transformers movie last night (awesome, but so so so long!).

my geek box july 2015 resident evil shirt

Resident Evil T-Shirt ($15) Well, this is another franchise that I can’t say I know anything about. The logo says Project Nemesis * Biological Warfare * Umbrella Corp. I’m not really keen on the slashes on the boob design and it’s not appropriate for kids, so I’ll use this shirt for art projects.

My Geek Box seemed to go for the really deep cuts this month and it left me lukewarm on several of the items. While my husband absolutely adores that coffee mug, I’m not sure that paying the premium on this box to be shipped from the UK is worth it. There was about $70 of value in the box, which was pretty impressive.

Just a word of warning, if you cancel the subscription (which is torturous to start off with as their customer services are appalling!) they will keep billing you for boxes every month. I had to contact my bank and report unauthorised withdrawals from my debit card and put a block on them taking anything else out of my account to stop them! If you look at their facebook page it’s full of similar complaints. :/

I’m curious… What did you expect or hope to receive in your geek box from the UK?

Honestly it would be great if there were items you couldn’t get here, but there haven’t been. I am in the process of reviewing all the geek boxes. I usually do 3 of each subscription. I don’t see anything special in this one to warrant paying extra although we liked the June one quite a bit.

Hmm I’m with you I know of these franchises but I don’t really watch them. My sister is obsessed with Dr Who and wants me to watch but there is just so much I don’t even know where to start. N has watched a couple since they are now on DisneyXD so maybe he will be the one to talk to. Jumping now. Did you ever watch the Terminator TV show? The newest one that wasn’t too long ago? It has Brian Austin Green in it 😉 that is pretty much all I need to say an he is very much eye candy. LOL It was a good show though and I was upset it was cancelled so fast.
